This hotel is nice, clean, and within walking distance of a trolley station. A little pricey for a Best Western.
Excellent value! - posted on 04/13/2006
The Best Western is a 2-story Spanish-flavored gem within walking distance of almost every attraction in San Diego. The rooms have been recently renovated and are cozy, spotlessly clean and well cared for. The FREE hot breakfast buffet was a plus. There is also a beautiful gazebo on the roof to relax in. The staff was extremely pleasant. I would definetely return.

We stayed here twice pre and post cruise. Bathrooms small but fabulous beds. Rooms nicely appointed and staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We didn't have a car and walked everywhere we wanted to go. This is our new San Diego hotel - will be a pleasure to stay there again

Stayed at the Cabrillo Garden when I was in town for a conference. Great hotel. Nice breakfast; helpful staff, on the direct "airport flyer" route to the airport; reasonably priced. Rooms are not huge, but they are very comfortable and nicely decorated. Bathroom didn't have a fan, so it got a little steamy after showers, but other than that it was great!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Cabrillo Inn and were pleased with our experience. It is a very clean hotel and the service was great. The rooms were small but nicely furnished. There was parking available right outside our room for only $10 a day. A warm breakfast was included and was decent. The location was great. It was just a block from the trolley pick-up, a short stroll to Gaslamp, and a long walk to the water. Also included is a pleasant roof deck. If you're looking for a quaint little hotel centrally located in Downtown San Diego, look no further!
Clean, Cute & Convenient - posted on 07/19/2005
My husband & I really enjoyed this motel. It has recently been remodeled so it's NEW! It's on the outskirts of the Gaslamp District (walking distance) and we walked to the zoo!! Breakfast was from 6am-9am with minimal choices (cereal, toast, danish), hot items-eggs and bacon (not crispy). We didn't rent a car-utilized taxi, trolley and our feet! A small convenience store is across the street. Construction all around, but a great roof-top gazebo & picnic area. Clean rooms! We really enjoyed this treasure in downtown San Diego!!

We may have booked under a special rate--we paid much less than listed at present. It was a wonderful surprise-clean, great beds and linens, pleasant and helpful staff, beautiful plants and foliage everywhere. A real find in the downtown area. Recommend without hesitation.
Charming hotel/but parking,not. - posted on 04/02/2005
It was a small hotel, but it was very charming. It had a cute gazebo on the third floor. The hotel had a lovely variety of succulents and orchids, etc. Oh,yes, the city's many tourist attractions were very accessible, even on foot! The breakfast was great! I think the only thing that bothered me was having to pay for my parking, when on the premises!!
Great Service, Comfortable Environment - posted on 10/05/2004
I took the description of this hotel with a grain of salt, not expecting too much for the price I paid, but was so pleasantly surprised to find that the Carbrillo Inn was not misrepresented. Small details made this hotel comfortable and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. When I asked the gentleman at the front desk to recommend a good pizza take-out he offered to call and order pizza for me because he received a discount from a local restaurant that he wanted to pass on. If I ever visit San Diego again, I will absolutely make reservations at the Cabrillo Inn.
