A terrible night, absolutely no sleep. The hotel may be O.K. if you are not overlooking the I -5 Freeway. Constant traffic, I requested a quiet room 4 weeks prior to our arrival, was told I needed to call to ensure a quite room.
Loved Courtyard - posted on 01/04/2007
We enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard! Initially, we had a problem because workmen were staying in our assigned room. The front desk apologized for their error and quickly put us in another room. They didn't charge us the $15/day parking fee. So we saved $45 over the 3 days. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff service was good. The breakfast buffet was very good. Eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, waffles, fruit, oatmeal, yogurt. Parking beneath hotel was cramped and difficult getting in and out. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Avoid the Courtyard Old Town--no breakfast, noisy, lots of extra fees
Perfect hotel for a quick vacation! - posted on 02/01/2006
My husband's business trip ruined our ski plans. I took our kids for a long wknd to this hotel because of the shuttles offered to MAJOR area attractions. We ate bkfst and dinner in Old Town. Our days were filled with area attractions/ fun! Even on the loud side of the hotel we slept like babies, undisturbed! Leave the fan on. The staff is TOP NOTCH!
You can do better - posted on 07/09/2005
The location was not quite what I had anticipated. Its very close to the airport, and in a tough area, next to an elementary school. There is no free parking available only underground parking for 12 dollars per nite. The staff was nice. Rooms were small. The toilet handle fell off when you used the privy. The looks of the hotel are nice, it just could be in a bit nicer location. One nice feature was Old Towne was 2 blocks away. I'd chose another hotel next time.
Smoking room - posted on 06/22/2005
We arrived to only smoking rooms available. Preference was not listed on reservation shee;, failed to specify in comment section; room odor was very strong. They tried to air it out but the odor was still there; bedding smelled of smoke as well
Best Hotel I've ever stayed in. - posted on 12/08/2004
The Courtyard Marriott in Old Town San Diego was absolutely lovely. The staff was awesome. They seemed to really want to get to know you and care about all your vacation needs. Our room was nice, clean, and kept up. The whole hotel was just cozy and perfect. Especially with the fireplace and sofas in the lobby! I'd definitely stay there again and will encourage others to stay there.
MCRD graduation stay - posted on 10/06/2004
If you are looking for a great hotel with courteous staff, this is the place. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the courtesy shuttle to and from the MCRD and airport, made our trip enjoyable. We would certainly stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel if you are unsure where to stay in San Diego.
