2 room suite was sweet - posted on 05/03/2007

The rooms were large and nicely appointed. we stayed in the first building and between the traffic noise and road noise, it was noisy! Ask for a room away from that area. Loved the courtyard with the chess set, putting green and volley ball net. very nice family hotel

Great stay - posted on 07/19/2006

We were in San Diego for a Family Wedding., I must say the service is exceptional and professional. the Bellman and the Valet where both very helpful. Our room was beautiful . the only drawback was the internet service wouold not work, but we were moved to another room immediately. I would suggest this hotel to anyone.

Business travelers beware - posted on 04/15/2006

During this trip we split our time between two hotels as neither had openings for the entire stay. When the Marriott had an earlier opening come up, we took it. Unfortunately, we were not informed of the Horton's 24 hour early departure notice policy until we were in the lobby with our luggage checking out. The reservation manager said we would have to pay for an additional night even if they rented the room to someone else. Make sure your plans are firm before staying here. Also, do not plan on having internet in your room. Definitely not business traveler friendly.

This hotel was next to the mall. Just steps away from Gaslamp Area, which was great for dinner (wonderful restaurants, cocktails and nightlife.

Room was nice, location great! The only downside to the stay was the wait for the elevators.

Great Location and Great Rooms - posted on 06/12/2005

This hotel was great. The location is wonderful, we walked everywhere. The staff was incredible and the service was fabulous. The pool was very small and of course the parking was steep. The restaurant service was wonderful but the food was only so-so. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Location, great service, near shopping, gaslamp, easy walking distance to most sights. Take the trolley tour, it covers all major sights and is well worth the $25

Great Downtown Location - posted on 04/02/2005

Great hotel for the location. It is close to GasLamp(dining/partying), Petco Park (baseball), Horton Plaza(Shopping), SD Bay/Harbor (sightseeing), the airport, Balboa Park and the SD Zoo. The pool is a 3rd floor outdoor treat. No food or beverages available at the pool is a detraction. The "hot tub" was skeevy. The fitness club is above average. It also provides SPA services upon request. 24hr room service is a plus. The guest room beds and the showers are as "heavenly" as described. The service staff is beyond compare...

Great Rooms! - posted on 12/21/2004

Great, large, very nice contemporary rooms. Super comfortable pillows & bed. Nicest decor that I've seen in a hotel room. Parking is too tight - valet only, and no space to drop off. Otherwise, great experience!
