The hotel staff was wonderful and the room was really clean and nice view.

The hotel itself was very nice. Clean accommodations, great location near the gas lamp quarter, airport and harbor. The reception I received was very friendly. However, the sheets and the towels were not quality, but rather something I would have expected at holiday inn or motel 6. Also, it's very odd to me that they charge by the hour when I requested to for a late check out of 1:00 p.m. They quote me $20 to stay that extra time and I subsequently inquired with the front desk manager and she said that is a discretionary and that normally we wouldn't charge through 12:30. When I do travel on business, I do not get these ridiculous quotes per hour.

I asked for a late check out of 1:00 and was quoted to be charged $20.

From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I felt like a royal guest. Every necessity and service was at my disposal. I really loved the warm, cozy aura of the hotel. San Diego is a city that definitely has a lot to offer, but without any guidance and a limited number of days to spend, a person can go crazy. But I found the staff really helpful and willing to map out my days as I wanted. The restaurants in the hotel dont offer the best variety in cuisines, but since downtown San Diego is moments away from all the ethnic enclaves like Chinatown and Little India, you will never have to worry about a dearth of dining options.
