The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Central at Kearny Mesa is an upscale extended stay all-suite, apartment style hotel catering to both the business and leisure traveler. The two-story, non-smoking hotel comprises 144 one and two-bedroom suites. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, a manager’s reception on midweek evenings, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The hotel has good access to the Interstate system enabling an easy drive to area attractions including La Jolla, Mission Valley, Coronado Island, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, the San Diego Wild Animal Park, Sea World Adventure Park, Legoland and the beaches of San Diego.

Families who stayed in the two-bedroom suites at this Residence Inn said it made an ideal base for seeing the sights of San Diego. The rooms were spacious and the fully equipped kitchens enabled some home cooking which saved on restaurant expenses. There were good comments from other travelers about the efficient and friendly staff and the enjoyable complimentary breakfast. Several visitors noted that there were less expensive hotels in the area, but felt the prices charged here were worth paying for the additional space and comfort. All the suites have a fully equipped kitchen with a conventional and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, two-line telephone with voicemail and speakerphone, pullout sofa bed, television with cable movie and news channels and pay-per-view movies, hairdryer, and iron and ironing board. Some suites have a fireplace.
