Wonderful hotel - posted on 03/28/2006

Room was slightly small, but very clean; bed perfect; internet connection convenient. Staff were wonderful and chatted me up in hallways or while waiting for the elevator. Be sure to take an early morning walk along the water - the gate is out near the pool - exit and hang a right. Great little shops!

So glad I stayed here - posted on 11/27/2005

Stayed for a convention. Family joined me later. Staff was very nice and helpful. I stayed in the North tower - further away from Convention Center, but quieter. Don't rent a car! It's expensive to park and public transportation is readily available. A lot is within walking distance. Eat somewhere else - the food was awful.

Expensive food, but great rooms, view, staff - posted on 11/20/2005

I'm writing review in our room before checkout. Pros: Gorgeous hotel & grounds, nice room decor/furniture, bed is *excellent*, not too firm/mushy. Wonderful bay view. Staff friendly and efficient. In-room broadband access fast & reasonably priced. Network and USB cables included in room, nice touch! Cons: Late night noisy pool guests--sound echoes well up hotel's west side, balcony chairs uncomfortably small, prices sky-high in LC's & Molly's restaurants, food at DW's Pub bland, pricey and tasted "canned." Bleah. I can shop at Costco myself, thanks. Overall: Stay here, eat elsewhere.

No Wonder We Love Marriott! - posted on 11/15/2005

Most impressive hotel we've been to yet! Extremely clean. Hassel-free check-in and check-out. Entire staff is friendly; even greet you in the hallways! DW's Irish Pub and LC's best places to eat. Get a bayview room with balcony - you won't be disappointed. We can't wait to go back. Definitely a luxury property.

It's all about the location - posted on 10/07/2005

If you are attending a conference at the San Diego Convention Center, do not even think about staying anywhere else. This is hotel is directly connected to it, in fact the tennis courts for the hotel are on the roof of the convention center. Views from the rooms are great regardless if you are on the bay or city side. Parking is expensive, but valet is quick, the staff is great and from all over the world. It is no wonder why this hotel wins countless internal Marriott Awards. Caution: Book Early.

Fantastic Hotel - posted on 08/14/2005

This hotel had everything compared to all the others we stayed at during a three week San Fran to San Diego coastal vacation. Although overbooked so it took some time to get a few things, the food was great-had room service every night, restaurants to go to but chose not to with four kids, valet was good even though it was a crowded weekend and overbooked, concierge helpful, view overlooking marina and gorgeous pool was fantastic. Would recommend to anyone. Starbucks right in hotel. Whole family loved this hotel!

Noisy, but great for conference attendees - posted on 07/24/2005

The "deluxe" rooms were very small and very noisy. Located next door to the conference center and within steps to Seaport and downtown attractions makes it a great hotel for business travelers. Room service and LC's restaurant provided great food and service. We were told this was a training hotel and it showed.

perfect location - posted on 10/17/2004

The pool area is awesome, and you can walk to the gaslamp and seaport village. Bayview was gorgeous, and rooms were luxurious. Concierge was very helpful, and a trolley stop nearby.

Great Stay! - posted on 10/04/2004

Walking distance to top Gaslamp District, Seaport Village, top restaurants, marina & Convention Center. Passing trains a little noisy on city view side, recommend bay view side for that reason only. Wishing we could return very soon!

Great Hotel - posted on 10/01/2004

I had a wonderful stay at this Marriot. My room was a good size and had a balcony overlooking the bay. The pool and hottub were enjoyable. And the hotel is within walking distance to the some of the best restaurants and nightlife in San Diego. I would def. stay here again!
