Customer Reviews for Humphreys Half Moon Inn and Suites

nice get away - posted on 03/12/2006

We had a great get a way in a Jr Deluxe suite that over looked the marina. The concierge service was great and the place is immaculate. Great location, close to everything you might want to do and nice enough to hang around and do nothing.

Lovely stay - posted on 01/30/2006

Lush tropical setting- our patio looked out from the gardens, harbour and concert area. (we were upgraded to a Jr. suite which was awesome ). The room was quite comfortable even though the dressing area was small. The concierge was extremely helpful directions Great massages ! Loved their hot tub and really enjoyed it's lovely setting and the powerful jets. The room qualities and views could make or break your experience.(Don't get one near the parking lot- Ask for an upgrade if possible!) It was a great location- close access to everywhere we wanted to go!

Would Not Stay Here Again - posted on 08/01/2005

We were shown 3 rooms. All were dark, even with drapes open and lights on. Room service took 90 minutes to bring breakfast. Dishes were still outside door 24 hours later. No bell service; closet doors and sink needed repairs. They charge 4 star prices for at most a 3 star place. There are plenty of other better choices in San Diego.

Pleasantly Surprised - posted on 07/21/2005

We just got back from staying at this very nice and interesting place. We got upgraded to a suite on arrival. Very great room for the price we paid. I had three children with me an they had a great time. The location was ideal for all we wanted to see in San Diego. The staff was very courteous. I have no complaints. We will definitely be staying there again!

This is a great place but a lousy hotel - posted on 12/14/2006

Humphreys Half Moon is a very unique place with a great resturant and music club but the hotel and the rooms are terribly outdated and in desperate need of a makeover. A great pool and the setting on the harbor is neat. In the summers they have concerts on their attached concert stage

relaxing family time - posted on 11/29/2006

We loved our stay. The room was nice and the beds were better than many of the hotels we have stayed in. The restaurnt had great food and a great Sunday brunch. The kids loved the heated pool and jacuzzi. I will go back.

Traveler Beware! - posted on 11/13/2006

Humphreys is great if you're only concerned with superficialities like the "Tiki Room" ambience and being close to the yacht harbor. If you want a quiet room, good customer service or value for your lodging dollar, keep looking.

My wife and I love staying at Humphrey's Halfmoon Bay Inn located in San Diego, CA. Great views from rooms.

A lovely hotel and friendly staff, clean and high class. I felt like a queen staying here. One feature to improve would be van service for those staying at the hotel to other locations other than airport service. Concerts are presented perfectly !!!!!! Restaurant and bar are delightful with the food and drinks being top shelf.

Happy Birthday - posted on 08/17/2006

Indulged and spent my birthday here. They upgraded me to one of big suites overlooking the yacht club. Service was great. Restaurant closed to early so we had dinner (they even had sushi) in the lounge with live music. Great birthday indulgence. Will come back!

Weekend getaway - posted on 01/30/2006

This hotel was great.. the front desk was very helpful... landscaping was beautiful... The walls were pretty paper thin. We could hear the people next to us having a conversation but generally, it was pretty quiet. Ideal for relaxing. We will definitely be staying there again.

Great Location - posted on 11/30/2005

The location was great for our needs - close to Sea World and easy access to streets leading to Seaport Village and Downtown. Plenty of available free parking across the street - great for SUVs. Hotel staff and concierge were very helpful! Room needed some minor repairs but overall a very nice experience.

Don't Expect Much - posted on 11/16/2005

If you want help from the concierge service, find another hotel. Best they can do is call you a taxi, won't tell you how easy and cheap it is to use bus/trolley to get to all attractions. Felt we were wasting her time by asking. Rooms more expensive than worth, would stay at hostel before staying here again. Rather far from sites, compared to other hotels.

Excellent swimming pool - posted on 09/01/2005

My kids and I have greatly enjoyed the swimming pool at this hotel - it's sufficiently large, deep at one end (12 feet - you can safely dive) and is generally very nice and comfortable. The bar stand is open at night, and in the morning you can order breakfast and enjoy it at the pool. In the evening, we had a nice walk along the bay, you can see downtown San Diego on the other side.
