This 98-room hotel is the closest Howard Johnson in San Diego to Sea World and offers great value for money. The Howard Johnson Sea World Hotel is ideal for vacationers being within walking distance of the historic old town and numerous tourist attractions. If you tire of Sea World there are other amusement parks close by including Legoland, the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Wild Animal Park. Rates here include a continental breakfast. Should someone in the family need to work there are guestrooms for the businessmen that come with a work desk and daily newspaper.

Staying here made a lot of families happy. They loved the location, price and friendly staff. Former guests said the prices were below comparable properties in San Diego which did not have such a good location close to the attractions. Tip from former clients: Get a top floor room if you can. All rooms come with a fully-equipped bathroom with hairdryer, free Internet access, coffee maker, IDD telephone with voicemail, refrigerator, microwave, cable TV and iron and ironing board. The Crayola Kids rooms feature Crayola lamps, clock, easel and child-size table and chairs.

There is an outdoor swimming pool with sun deck and the 24-hour front desk has books and movies for children to borrow. The hotel operates a free shuttle to Sea World and to the airport. Continue of Pacific Highway. Take the Barnett Avenue exit. Continue on Barnett Avenue. Bear right on Midways Drive. Turn left on Rosecrans Street. From the east: Merge on I-8 West. Take CA-209 South to the Rosecrans Street exit. Continue on Rosecrans Street. The hotel is 3/4 mile on the right. From San Diego Airport: Turn right on N Harbor Drive. Turn right of Nimitz Blvd. Turn right on Rosecrans Street. Two miles to Midway Drive. U-turn at signal and the hotel is two blocks on the right side.
