We awoke to a very frustrating morning. The trash truck were out and LOUD but the worst part... the water was shut off: reasons unknown... NO RUNNING WATER. We had to ask housekeeping for bottles of water to brush our teeth. We had to use the restrooms that morning elsewhere.
Good hotel in Old town - posted on 03/09/2007
Nice hotel in Old town, sits on the hillside with beautiful views.Building with the 600's rooms is quite a hike up from the street. Some of the elevators are outside around corners that don't feel so safe for a woman alone. Parking is easy to find for freethe street. Staff friendly, not always at the desk, have to wait for them. A little outdated, but cheap for this nice in San Diego. Gate locked at lower street entrance, but not at upper. Overall pretty good for the money. Grounds beautiful.

I had a couple of gripes. I was told the pool was heated. Not very well, too cold for my grandson. He never complains. I got to the pool and no towels. It took 15 -20 minutes to get them. The meal ticket was not given to me at check-in nor offered one when I complained at the front desk. I received it ten minutes before expiration. We got there too late.

Rooms need renovation - posted on 10/17/2005
Location and the exterior Spanish design were the only thing going for this hotel. We stayed in the "outer wing" and if you were elderly, handicapped, or have a lot of luggage, you would find this property too spread out. It took us 5 different sets of elevators to get to our room. There was only one luggage roller and no staff to help us to our room. It sits right above old town, so this was convenient. The view was very nice. The rooms really needed updating. Ask for a remodeled room if you stay.
Old Town Revisited - posted on 05/20/2005
The best thing that the Hacienda has going for it is their location. I have stayed @ the hotel on business trips, but this is the worst time I have had. There were several things broken in the newly remodeled room. The door to the bathroom was badly damaged & could not be closed. The worst part was when I went to report it to the Hotel Supervisor I received excuses & not even a thankyou for bringing to their attention or trying to make it right. Unless they get their act together this will be my last time staying @ the Hacienda.

I have occupied this establishment for year. I really love it! You park, go to your room and start your adventure through Old Town. No driving, a major plus when I need to relax have a drink and enjoy he festivites. Very good restaurants just steps away! The hotel is very private and quite also.

Convenient, scenic hotel in the heart of Old Town- close to San Diego shuttle,Zoo, Balboa Park, Sea World. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, rooms quiet. Hotel is spread out on different levels(on hill)-but easy to walk/elevators. Convenient parking. Staff helpful and attentive. Got a great rate thru this website. Would stay here again!!!
