Lovely open public areas. Location along the river is wonderful, easy walk to Old Sac, Crocker Art Museum. Large, clean rooms; very helpful staff

Disappointed stay - posted on 01/16/2007

I was notified at check in that my room was sold to another. I received a room with two double beds instead of a single king, and I was on the noisy side of the building above the freeway with no heat & air conditioning. I am not interested in a $20 discount, just for a reservation to be fulfilled. I was disappointed.

Good choice near Capitol - posted on 12/30/2006

This hotel is at the western end of Capitol Mall, the long and wide boulevard running up to the state Capitol building. It is across the Mall from Old Sacramento, eight square blocks or so of gold rush era buildings that house restaurants, shops and the California Railroad Museum. The Delta King is a must-see period riverboat with a nice bar and restaurant and unbeatable views of the river. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and with the breakfast included, the price is reasonable, particularly for this location.

First the bad news, indoor pool and spa as well as the fitness room were closed indefinitely. The front desk person not helpful, took 30+ minutes to check in. Given smoking rooms. Central atrium which is noisy. They charge you $18 to park your car at this hotel. There is no self-park. Evening managers reception and LARGE breakfast were great. The hotel?s location was by Old Town and 6 blocks from capitol. The rooms are decent. Bed was comfortable.Next time we are in the Sacramento area, we will stay somewhere else.
