About the Delta King Hotel

The Delta King is an historic and charming riverboat that floats on the Sacramento River in old-town Sacramento. It has an upscale restaurant, mystery dinner theater and an intimate local theater venue. The Delta King bar is one of our favorites, as it sits slanted at the front of the boat, with a pianist and a groovin’ blues & jazz singer on the weekends. The outside deck is a perfect place for a glass of wine and boat-viewing, especially during the summer when all the hot rods and locals are out. It’s a somewhat funky, old place. It’s small – but a Sacramento classic.

Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?

I recommend this hotel for the traveler who is up for a little bit of old-time charm. As an older riverboat, some of the doors are low and the floors slant a bit... but that’s what makes it fabulous (in my opinion). For someone interested in being near numerous local attractions, right on the river and experiencing a bit of Sacramento history, I recommend the Delta King wholeheartedly. We’ve shared some wonderful memories there and I frequently take visitors to the Delta Lounge to feel the sunshine and watch the boats go by. If possible, go in the summertime! Delta King Hotel Accommodations

There are 44 rooms spread out across five stories. Each room has a balcony, free wireless Internet access, cable TV with premium channels, iron and ironing board. Again, the rooms are somewhat small (it’s a boat) but they are charming, clean and lovely.
