The 176 all-suites Residence Inn by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo provides affordable spacious accommodation for both the business traveler and families on vacation. The pet-friendly property is just blocks from the Cal Expo State Fairgrounds and close to the 23-mile American River Parkway, noted for its fishing, boating and picnicking areas. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, a manager’s reception on midweek evenings, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. All the suites at this two-story, non-smoking property have separate sleeping and living areas and a fully equipped kitchen. Nearby landmarks and attractions include the 65 stores of the Arden Fair Mall, Sacramento Convention Center, the Arco Arena, the Napa Valley and Lake Tahoe.

Great service, great rates and suites that are spacious and squeaky clean: That is the opinion of many former guests to this Residence Inn. Several business clients who visit Sacramento on a regular basis say this is the only place to stay. The fully equipped suites do provide a home away from home environment. In addition, the free passes to the nearby gym were an added bonus. Families here to tour the area said they were able to make use of the kitchen facilities and save money on restaurants. All the suites have a fireplace and fully equipped kitchen with a conventional and microwave oven, stove, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, telephone with voicemail, pullout sofa bed, television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, hairdryer, and iron and ironing board.

The inn has an outdoor heated pool, whirlpool and gives passes to a nearby fitness center. The complimentary breakfast is the only meal served here but there are several places to eat within a short drive. They include a Black Angus, Denny’s, The Cheesecake Factory, Hooters and the California Café. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a coin-operated laundry, a grocery shopping service, copy and fax machines available for guest use, vending machines and a picnic area with a barbecue grill.
