They tried to help the situation, the first night by giving me a spray to help with the smell. The room's paper was peeling, and it smelled like smoke. We received towels for two. There was 3 of us, including my spouse. We also, had 2 pillows, and had to share a queen bed. The next day was better. We received a larger room, non smoker, had more towels and pillows, but had to still share queen bed. So, that day was much more satisfactory. the Staff was very nice, and attentive, and loved the location. My seminar was at the Sacramento convention center down the street. I could just walk. That was nice.

The location was great, it was walking distance to the convention center.

The first day we arrived, we received a smoker's room, and the hotel was full, they could not change it. I have Asthma, and had a baby with me.

This is not one of downtown Sacramentos finest hotels but we still give the property a YES rating because many clients had a good time here and said the rates were reasonable and lower that some of the nearby hotels. Overall the staff did a great job but front office staff needs to be told not to take personal calls on their cell phones while attending to guests. The location is good, near major attractions, and most visitors say they will stay at this hotel again on future visits to the California capital.
