This hotel was clean and convenient to the downtown area. The staff was very friendly. Food was ok. Missed having a heated pool and there was no hot tub. The show was mouldy and you could not adjust the shower head. But over all it was a reasonable place for a reasonable price.

Convenient to downtown, staff very friendly, free internet.

Weird. Not horrible but odd. Like someone tried to turn a motel 6 into a fancy hotel. Good amenities but the bones of the room were strictly 1968. But not in a good way, not retro, just shabby. Might be better in the summer since rooms face the pool. But on a rainy winter night, just depressing.

Serviceable for our needs. Close to downtown.

Odd layout. Outside stairs and hallways.

The Clarion Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento. It is across the street from the Old Governor's Mansion, very near the convention center and State Capitol, and about 10 miles from the Sac Airport. There's a cafe in the hotel, as well as meeting and banquet spaces. All guest rooms have recently been renovated and the hotel brews Starbucks coffee (always a pull). Rooms start at $90 a night -- decent price for downtown, but even after the rooms were renovated, the hotel remains a bit run-down. KEEP IN MIND it's a 2-star hotel and it's one of the cheapest in the area. If you're on a budget, it may work for you, but don't expect much.

Accommodations

Rooms have wireless and modem Internet connections, irons, hair dryers, refrigerators, electric door locks and coffee-makers. The rooms are small and the beds are not very comfortable. The hotel is older and the rooms show it a bit.

Amenities offered

Pets are allowed for a $35/stay charge and there is free parking in an excellent location (right downtown). There's an outdoor heated pool, place to get food (not sure about the quality -- they call it a bar/lounge, and apparently there's a cafe), room service, wireless Internet, and truck and bus parking.
