Never saw it in daylight. A real pity.

Room was HUGE. Amenities wonderful.

Due to late check in/VERY early checkout, valet desk and front desk were not manned and finding someone was difficult.

Enjoyed my stay there but next time I would stay in San Francisco because of the nightlife and the Bart.

Great location if using the Bart for getting around.

The breakfast buffet needed more staff for the customers that were present.

This was a pleasant experience. We were surprised at the cleanliness, also the quality of the bedding was nice. The staff was excellent, everyone from the valet, front desk, dining room staff, breakfast cook was respectful and friendly. The dining room was short handed, but, the sincerity and friendliness of staff won us over (I've worked in food service for 27 years and I know the pressure you can be under). It was also a surprise to find ourselves in downtown China town Oakland. We loved watching the bustle of the markets in the neighborhood.

The staff was excellent from check-in to check-out.

The dining room was under-staffed, but the workers there had and excellent attitude and smiles on their faces.

The 162-room Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Downtown, located between the historic district of old Oakland and Chinatown, provides quality accommodation at an affordable price for both the leisure and business traveler. The five-story, non-smoking hotel has three rooms available for social of business functions. The largest can accommodate 45 guests. Items included with the room rate are a morning newspaper, local telephone calls and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The hotel is within walking distance of Oakland's central business district, federal and state offices and superior courts. Other area landmarks and attractions include the Oakland Asian Cultural Center, Gondolas on Lake Merritt, USS Hornet aircraft carrier, Six Flags Marine World and the Oakland Zoo.

All the guestrooms, and five suites, have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, dual-line telephone with voicemail and speakerphone, coffee and tea making facilities, television with cable news and movie channels, pay-per-view movies, pullout sofa bed, iron and ironing board, alarm clock and a hairdryer. All the rooms have windows that open and some have the added benefit of a Jacuzzi.
