Customer Reviews for Hyatt Regency Newport Beach

disappointing - posted on 02/06/2006

Upon arrival our family of 5 had to change our rooms (we booked two rooms, several times. The rooms they gave us were not as we booked.(2 connecting non smoking rooms) The management was unapologietic and did not seem to care. Room service never showed up even when we checked out. The service was quite poor and some rooms quite dirty. After 3 days we, finally got the rooms we reserved, but it took alot of work. The walk to the parking lot is long. So add time to your schedule if your room (as most are) not close to the parking lot.

Hyatt Newport - posted on 11/14/2005

I usually am happy to pay extra dollars to stay at a Hyatt, but I was disappointed with their Newport location. Grounds and Lobby are lovely, but the rooms are small and dated, a need for infrastructure improvements. I would not stay at this location again.

Unexpected Disapointed - posted on 07/26/2005

rooms were very old, plumbing old, low water pressure, air did not work, doors fell off dressing area, did not want to replace until after stay, common balcony a walk way loud rowdy all hours of the night until after 3:00am. not much sleep. 1 pool closed from 2-6 for private lessons.Substandard accomodations than what we are used to. People knocking on your door every morning at 5;30am 6;00am no one there. Very annoying

The hotel was great, especially the staff. The Valets were prompt and took good care of my car. The front desk staff were knowledgable their directions were accurate. Teh service in the restaurants was excellent. We had a great time and would go there again and again.

great escape in Newport - posted on 05/25/2005

fantastic hotel location. It's near Balboa Island, Fashion Island, and PCH but the 26 acre grounds create a nice escape from a busy beach community. 3 swimming pools are great for kids, 3 hot tubs great for adults. state of the art fitness room. The rooms are nicely appointed but could be larger. The bed was comfortable and the high count cotton sheets were greatly appreciated. I didn't like the $11 charge for DSL and $12perday self parking. The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and agreeable. Overall no complaints, we would stay there again.
