The property is located halfway between Oakland and San Jose in the East Bay Silicon Valley and minutes away from Stanford University, the University of California at Berkley, California State University East Bay, and San Jose State University. Shoppers are a quarter of mile away from The New Park Mall which has branches of Macy’s, Mervyn's, Sears, Target, and JC Penny plus 150 specialty shops. The hotel is also within walking distance of more than 15 restaurants that offer ethnic cuisine from Japan, China, Mexico, Greece and Italy. The property has 13 luxurious meeting rooms that can handle social or business events for up to 500 guests.

Former guests here were impressed by the lobby, spacious accommodation and efficient and friendly staff. Also impressive were the reasonable rates and vast amount of parking available – and at no charge. There were, however, complaints that some rooms were not well soundproofed.

The standard rooms are furnished in warm earthy colors and come with a choice of one king size or two queen size beds. Amenities include a large work desk with complimentary high-speed Internet access, IDD phone with voicemail, spacious bathroom with make-up mirror and hairdryer, cable TV with movie channels, coffee maker and iron and ironing board.
