The room was cheapened by price tags on things. Bottles of water with $3.25 price tags hanging off of them. Bottles of wine with a $14.95 price tag. Local phone calls at $.75 each. Parking at $10.00 a night. I felt like I was being nickled and dimed to death. The room was stuffy. There was not an independent air conditioning system. There was a sign that said that a fan could be requested from the desk. Gads! I was afraid I'd get charged for that, too, so I didn't ask for one. I opened the balcony sliding door to get a breeze, but was met with parking lot chatter and traffic noise. I was not happy.

Everything was advertised, except the fitness center was still undergoing renovation, so wasn't available for use. they did, however, arrange with another local hotel for use of their facility. The rooms have nice amenities and new, comfortable beds. everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. I would consider staying there again if I went back to the area.

Just renovated, so everything was new, fresh cookies in the afternoon.

A little bit hard to get into because of traffic from the college, fitness center wasn't open yet.

Good hotel for the price. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room is very clean with all new furniture and appointments. The walls are very thin as I could hear neighboring conversations clearly. Be sure not to stay in a room next to the stairs. It's very noisy!

The 204-room Hilton Garden Inn Monterey is close to Californias scenic Highway 1 and half-a-mile from the beaches of Monterey Bay. Items included with the room rate at this non-smoking hotel are high-speed Internet access with secure remote printing, a copy of USA Today, in-room coffee and parking. There are seven rooms available for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 250 guests. This is an excellent hotel with a nice location, close to the beaches, with all the best facilities that Hilton Garden Inns can provide. This is the opinion of several guests who have stayed here. There were some minor moans that the rooms were not the largest. But that was compensated for by their cleanliness and the great service provided by the efficient and friendly team of employees. First-time visitors said this would be their hotel of choice on future visits to Monterey.
