Best Western Markland Hotel is situated on the south side of the city, just a short drive down the freeway from the family favorite Whittier Recreation Area, as well as various quality golfing opportunities. Entertainment seekers may also appreciate being able to reach downtown L.A. in just a matter of minutes. As for the hotel itself, it is proud to be one of the newer properties in the area that exhibits a unique architectural design and contemporary appointments throughout. For some downtime, a spacious lobby is featured as well as an intimate breakfast area where a complimentary morning spread is served up daily.

The number of quality and rather dingy rooms is split somewhat down the middle. Some accommodations are poorly illuminated, offer poor view, hold musty odors and need cleaner carpeting. The rest are pretty much in tiptop shape. This can be attributed to poor management as the staff isn’t particularly accommodating or concerned when they are confronted with such problems. This three story property features 87 guestrooms, all of which can be settled into by preparing a cup of coffee or tea, accessing high-speed internet, enjoying cool drinks from the refrigerator or simply pulling up a chair by the window and gazing at the surrounding mountains.
