Chic is the best adjective to describe the former home of the Standard Oil Company, which is now Downtowns Standard Hotel. 60s Mod styling throughout attracts a somewhat younger crowd, and lets face it, the rooftop bar doesnt hurt either. Expect to see the young professionals mixing and mingling here after a hard day at the office. It is so happening, in fact, that hotel guests receive a wristband to guarantee admission. The 207 guest rooms are definitely geared more to the leisure traveler, as each is furnished with a DVD player, music system and bathroom with an oversize tub. That is not to say that it is inadequate for the business traveler, though, with huge desks, high-speed Internet and cordless room phones.

The rooftop pool is the best feature here at the Standard, lest we not forget the 24-hour (bright yellow) on-site restaurant, and the rooftop bar.
