Customer Reviews for Holiday Inn Express Universal City

Great stay - posted on 06/29/2005

This hotel is very clean and I had no problems whatsoever. It is in a great location--really close (walking distance probably) to Universal Studios and also close to the Hollywood Bowl. If you plan on going to the Hollywood Bowl, look into the dinner they serve there or pack your own picnic--it will make the experience special! The hotel has a nice continental breakfast and a newly redesigned shower (the curtain won't cling to you while you shower). A really nice experience and great price!

Excellent Value - posted on 04/10/2006

As a former Director of Housekeeping at a full service Holiday Inn in Florida I must say I was very impressed at this property. The room and bath passed my inspection. Excellent staff, free parking, close to Universal and Hollywood Blvd. Would highly reccommend!!!!!

Best stay in Universal City - posted on 01/06/2006

The room was spacious and clean. Customer service was excellent. Continental breakfast was elaborate. Very close to Universal Studios. Would have been nicer if they had a jacuzzi, shuttle service, or movie rentals from the tv. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

Good Universal Studios - posted on 10/17/2005

If you are looking for a good hotel to crash at while going to Universal Studios, then this is the place. It about four blocks to walk to Universal. The hotel is pretty ok. The hotel was clean and safe. Our room, although non-smoking, smelled a bit of smoke. The view out the window was a back alley. If we did it again, would get the suite, instead of the standard room for a few bucks more. Staying just off Universal saves 100+ on the hotel per night, and staying within walking distance saves the parking fee. A good value.

University City Trip - posted on 11/10/2004

We stayed here when we visited Universal Studios. We had an adjoining suite and standard room. The rooms were clean, and the hotel is located near Universal Studios. The continenal breakfast was a big plus, especially with little kids on the run. I will definitely stay here again.

This hotel had very clean rooms, a comfortable bed, and a very polite staff. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Fine and clean - posted on 04/25/2006

When our family arrived, there were no non-smoking rooms; then the toilet didn't flush and the phone did not work. HOWEVER, all was fixed (except the smoke smell) promptly, and it was a fine stay. It was clean. Indoor pool very, very small and not inviting at all.

Close To Universal - posted on 02/26/2006

Although the property was in close proximity to the Park, we found the neighborhood to be questionable for walking back to the hotel after the park closes and eating dinner at City Walk. :( The price was reasonable, and like the previous reviews mentioned, the B-fast was a hit with the family! Very clean rooms and cont. b-fast would be the reason why we would consider staying here again! Need to get a shuttle svc going and then this would be PERFECT! Also, flashing red light means GO at the stoplight!

Our trip to the Los Angeles Zoo, Travel Town Museum and the Holiday Festival of Lights was made even more special by having a good night's sleep at a comfortable, exceptionally clean and modern Motel. After ten straight hours of sight seeing, finding a comfortable place to unwind near-by made this trip even more enjoyable for the adults and a toddler.

I liked it... - posted on 11/15/2005

My wife and I wanted a nice hotel near Universal Citywalk, and boy did we find one! Our room was very spacious and clean. We needed taxi service and the front desk took care of everything.
