Awful Hotel - posted on 03/11/2007
An excellent place to be buried, but an awful place to spend a moment inhaling. Spelled like grim death in there. The lighting was horrid. Just a terrible experience.
Very Nice - posted on 03/05/2007
Tucked away in busy Chinatown. Nice, big, clean rooms. Pleasant staff. I was very happy overall. Parking is extra. $7 a day. Long distance (which is just about all LA calls) was pricey. Otherwise, an excellent visit.
poor rating - posted on 02/15/2007
The hotel was given a good rating however, the room was dark and the walls were in need of paint. There were also no restaurants within walking distance that were of any value
My Visit - posted on 02/08/2007
Was pretty good for the price. The Staff were very friendly and cleanliness was the best. Military Welcome is a plus!!!! Not bad for the price and very close to all attractions in Downtown LA, will visit again
Not too shabby... - posted on 10/25/2006
Location was fine, but my room faced busy intersection, got little sleep b/c of the noise. Parking garage was reasonable $. The water pressure in the shower was soft and the water was not consistant it had hot and cold spurts. This place is not wonderful, but it makes due when you want to have a short stay for the price, however, the other best westerns in LA are a lot nicer (more $$). This one is more like a motel then a hotel style setting.

Spacious rooms, well maintained, helpful staff. Though nowhere near UCLA.
Great Location and Good Price - posted on 07/27/2006
Best Feature:This is a centrally located hotel for nearby attractions and the price is good. Others:The front desk personnel is helpful; however, it will be more helpul if they will smile and be more courteous.. kind too serious and short in providing information. When we checked-in, we were giving a smoking room although we had requested non- smoking... we were immediately provided with a non-smoking ..an inconvenience. I came with 2 children under 10 and dissapointed as there was no microwave and no cartoon channel.

My room reeked of smoke, at checkin the girl could barely stay off the phone, though at check out it was a different persona nd she was much more professional. The location was not at all convienient, and the wifi signal was terrible in the room. I ended up checking out the next day, a day early to get another room.

The Dragon Gate Inn was a wonderful experience. I came to Los Angeles for a wholesale buying trip. The room was so big that I was able to hold all 40 of my boxes here for shipment. The staff was friendly and courteous.
Great Place To Stay - posted on 03/02/2006
This hotel was a great place to stay. It is located conveniently to the downtown area of Los Angeles. It is also just minutes away from a lot of attractions that my family went to during our stay in Los Angeles. The free continental breakfast was a plus.
Avoid - awful service and rooms - posted on 01/09/2006
Horrible experience. Lost reservation. Rooms smoke-filled and dirty. Unfriendly front office - barely spoke English. I generally like Best Western, but avoid this location.
So so.... - posted on 11/26/2005
Not bad for $. Property older but clean enough, though not immaculate. Felt safe in family group but probably would not have felt as safe alone. Front desk understaffed & not fluent in English creating some service issues. The "continental breakfast" = convenience store juice/coffee, packaged pastry after 7:15AM so we were unable to even get that 2 out of 3 days there, then the front desk hassled us about getting it the 3rd day! Overall, this was a decent, not great value/served our needs. P.S. - beware many "B" health card restaurants in area!

This hotel is clean, and provides a great value. Close to downtown, and in the middle of Chinatown, we found many things to see. We will stay here again

We just got back and had to rave. Service excellent. Clean rooms. Very secure auto and room. Nice continental breakfast. Free WiFi. Had 2 adults and 2 kids, and we fit nicely.
