The rooms are comfortable and the conference facilities are fine. Staff is very courteous and problems get resolved right away. But their restaurants are overpriced and there is nothing nearby. So you are pretty much stuck there unless you have a rental car.

I read reviews of this hotel before I went and I got really worried. I thought it would be trashy or something, but it wasn't the room was nicely appointed (what you would expect of a Hilton). The worst part is the service. I called three times before I got there to ensure I got the types of rooms I wanted...but of course I didn't. Of course, the front desk didn't even apologize!!

This place has really slipped. They don't train their people right. Maintenence slams doors at all hours. Complaints about loud parties in adjoining rooms go ignored. Rude bell-hops. Poor service in lounge, mediocre food at a premum price. Two star property at a four-star price. There are better choices around LAX for less money.

Although I knew going in that this place was not kid friendly, it became quite apparent by the 2nd of 8 days. While there with the family for an onsite conference, felt a little 'stuck' in the hotel. Not the place/area to stay if you're on a budget. Good for couples & business travel. Beds are an odd size. But, it's an annual thing, I will be back w/out kiddies! Maybe I can celebrate my anniversary in a suite next year!!!!

The LAX Hilton is like an actor who's past his prime -- it still has "old school" class but it's faded a bit. The rooms are comfortable and the decor is moderately upscale. It's not quite as spiffy as some newer properties but at least it's not pretentious. I worried that being so close to LAX and right between the 2 approach paths the hotel would be noisy, but it was actually very difficult to hear airplane noise from the rooms, especially those on the northern side. My only gripe is that the food and drinks can be too expensive. $8.50 for a cocktail -- ouch!
