This luxury resort is spread over 45 acres of lush, landscaped gardens and fountains and has 428 guestrooms, 28 penthouse suites, and 43 one and two bedroom villas with butler service and backyard spas. The Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Palm Springs is home to an award-winning spa, championship golf course, seven swimming pools and three tennis courts. The restaurants offer a choice of indoor or outdoor dining and at weekends there is special live entertainment. The resort has facilities for a family vacation, corporate meetings and seminars or a romantic getaway.

No complaints from those who have been fortunate to stay at this upmarket California luxury resort. Prices are high, but so is the quality. There were minor gripes about the cost of drinks and the fact that the swimming pools can get busy. Offsetting that were numerous compliments for the very professional and efficient staff. Hyatt Grand Champions Resort AN Accommodations

The least expensive accommodation is an expansive 500 square-feet and has views of views of mountains, golf, pool or the resort. There is a choice of king or two double beds and the marble bathrooms have a separate tub and shower, plush robes and hairdryer. Every room has Internet access, coffee maker, satellite TV, dual line phones with voicemail and speakerphone and an in-room safe large enough to store and charge laptop computer. A newspaper is delivered every day and room service is available throughout the day.

Amenities offered

For family fun the resort offers adventure walks, volleyball, a Jungle Jim playground, croquet, cycling, ping pong, remote control boat racing, tye-dye T shirts, body art tattooing, a reptile show and zoo with 4 U pony rides. The 24-hour concierge has all the details on visits to national parks and historic sights and hot air balloon trips. The resort’s Santa Rose Grille is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a choice of indoor or outdoor dining. The hotel has a coffee shop and poolside café. Each weekend singer Paul Douglas performs in the Pianissimo Lounge. There is a gift shop on site and the resort’s Shopper Hopper is a complimentary shuttle to and from the hotel to Palm Desert's world-renowned shopping district, including El Paseo Drive and the Westfield Shopping Town.

From Phoenix and Points East: Take I-10 West toward Los Angeles, and cross into California. Take Washington Street exit, and turn left onto Varner Road then left on Washington Street. Turn right onto CA-111 North, and follow until Indian Wells Lane. Make right turn onto Indian Wells Lane. From San Diego and Points South: Take CA-163 North toward Escondido. Merge onto I-15 North, stay on I-15 North until I-215 North then exit Hwy 60 East to I-10 East towards Indio. Take the Cook Street exit off I-10, turn right onto Cook Street, then left on CA-111 South, Turn left on Indian Wells Lane. From Points North: Take US-395 South. Merge onto I-15 South toward San Bernardino. Keep left to take I-215 South toward San Bernardino/Indio. Take the Cook Street exit; turn right onto Cook Street, then left on CA-111 South. Turn left on Indian Wells Lane. From Palm Springs Airport (15 miles): Turn left on El Cielo Rd., left on Ramon until you reach Interstate 10 traveling East, turn right on Cook Street. Turn Left on Hwy 111. Left on Indian Wells Lane. From LAX (approximately 140 miles: As you exit the terminal turn right, take the 105 Fwy East, exit 605 Fwy North, Exit Hwy 60 East to I-10 East. Exit on Cook then turn right onto Cook St. Turn left on Hwy. 111. Left on Indian Wells Lane. From Ontario Airport (approximately 85 miles): Take Archibald Avenue to I-10 East. Exit on Cook. Left on Hwy. 111. Left on Indian Wells Lane.
