The staff were very attentive, always making sure you were having a good time. The rooms were excellent with a fabulous view of the ocean. The landscaping was beautiful and the ocean was just a pedestrian bridge away. You didn't have to cross busy PCH to get to the beach. This was the best stay we have ever had in a hotel.

Although we live locally here in CA, we love to relax and get away at the HB Hyatt. Sunday brunch is awesome! Pete's is great for all. Summer movie nights are fun for the kids along with roasting smores in the fire--you can bring your own smores stuff with you:) I've read a couple comments about things being pricey---yes, it's CA and it's a Hyatt!!!

stayed one week with 4 people in my group...they gave us one bar of soap...not enough towels...two coffee cups.....they charged us daily for parking...they charged us for being 10 minutes late for massage.....basically we felt like we had to beg for the basics..and they took ANY opportunity to charge us.....OH..and when we got our credit card bill, we saw that they billed us twice for the room by accident!

Hotel was very overpriced. Staff was rude. parking is $21 a day in addition to resort fee of 9.00. very costly and not worth. Room was not ready when I flew in from east coast and they stated they woul have the room ready. Staff still in training mode.

Great rooms with super comfortable beds. Get views of the ocean while sitting on the balcony. Very quiet even people in rooms next to us.Service was great as each person went over and above.One of the most comfortable places I have stayed at in a while.

Everything was flawless.Beautiful surroundings, great view and room. Room service, Pete's excellent and The Californian - can't even say enough, if they didn't have it on the menu, they got it for us.The general store will make lunch baskets for you to take to the beach or otherwise, nice touch. We will be going back for a mini honeymoon in the fall. All the staff from the valet's and the bell hop to the workers at the general store and ice cream shop super nice and very helpful.

We had the best stay here, everything was great! Talk about being pampered!!Excellent service, they really did everything to make us happy. Lots to do on site and nearby. Spa facilities AMAZING!! Great massages and stuff! We will always stay here if we go back to HB!

I was terribly disappointed that with having three children with us they put us in the farthest possible room which made it difficult to come and go for us. Service was very slow from room service to the bellmen coming up to get our luggage. We finally lugged all of our bags down ourselves and not one employee even asked if we needed help while my daughters struggled with all of their things. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone nor will I have anything nice to say about it. My husband thought the gentleman that checked us in was nice and the valets were good.

We had a very poor experience with the guests in the next room being extremely loud up to 2:30 am and a poor response from the front desk. We also had to wait almost an hour for our breakfast to be served in the restaraunt in the morning with an even worst response from the restaraunt manager. When I asked to speak with him he walked past my table 4 times before stopping and addressing me. He was not responsive to our problem. The waiter complemented out breakfast but the poor experience was already done. When I asked to talk to a manager upon my departure I was given a "I am very sorry, sir".

This hotel is gorgeous, and this is my first complaint about a hotel but some of the staff was not helpful, even rude. Couldn't take a delivery for us(we left something on the plane), we had a lost item, they kept telling us they didn't have it, then the last day found it, and the bathroom tile was cracking and the door wouldn't close. We were somewhat disappointed especially after paying what we did for 2 rooms for a week. We didn't eat at the Californian, but the other food wasn't good. Go up the street.

My family just came back from our mini vacation to L.A. I am a snob when it comes to hotel rooms and this hotel definitely met my satisfaction. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Wished there was a children's pool...but other than it was a 10+

I already live in a beach community, and still was impressed! Incredible landscaping, fountains, views, pools. Room and interior spaces also georgeous. Excellent attentive service. Great bedding, furnishings, internet access and work space. Would highly recommend, for romantic retreat or biz trip.
