Great to spend 4th of July at the beach! Great rooms well furnished and quite large
the view of the ocean was great!
Great self-contained resort.
We did not get to check-in to one of two rooms until around 5 pm.

The hotel is beautiful, there is numerous activities, places to eat, and of course you are in walking distance to all the great restaurants and shops on Main Street. But the only down side is the mandatory valet parking and the room I stayed in smelled like someone spilt a bottle of cologne and the bathroom was not the cleanest.
Location is excellent.
I of course was not excited about being forced to valet my car at $25 for the night. But what are you going to do?

All accommodation has Andalusian-inspired furnishings and large bathrooms with natural stone countertops and hairdryer. Amenities include work desk with Internet access, 27-inch cable TV, coffee maker, refrigerator, in-room safe, private balcony or patio, dual line phones and an iron and ironing board.
Amenities offered
Dining options include contemporary cuisine at The Californian, the hotel’s main restaurant, the more casual Surf City Sunset Grille or Mankota’s at the pool. There are bars at the beach accessed by a pedestrian overpass. The city beach is eight miles long where you can rent body boards, beach chairs and umbrellas. The hotel pool and sun decks, open from 8am until 10pm, enjoy great ocean views. The fitness center at the health spa has the latest cardio and weight training equipment and is open 24/7. The spa offers a full range of health and beauty treatments. There is a teens club and Camp Hyatt for younger members of the family both offering a full range of activates including learning to surf board, hair-braiding, airbrush tattoos and sand castle building.

Top quality resort in a top location where previous visitors said staying here was a wonderful experience. Top marks for accommodation, food and service. Only negative comments were about the high cost of parking – not uncommon in Southern California – and the fact that the resort is separated from the beach by a busy road. The resort has a bridge that crosses over the road so you can walk directly to the beach.
