Rude staff, unsafe rooms - posted on 03/12/2006

DO NOT STAY HERE. There are less expensive, better quality options close by. The rooms are easy to break into, one had an appliance with a frayed, bare wire sticking out of it, and you can hear TV/talking clearly from other rooms. They charge for parking that doesn't exist. They are rude no matter how polite or routine your request is.

Clean - posted on 04/04/2005

We only stayed one night, the staff was very friendly & courteous. We were a little concerned about the security. Seemed it would be easy for someone to gain access through motel door.

Worst stay ever at a travelodge - posted on 05/20/2007

Make sure you stay at the other travelodge the one with the Denny's in it. The staff are more respectful and the rooms are 100% better.

Travelodge, LA - posted on 09/11/2006

The Travelodge on Sycamore, LA, lighting was poor, remote was broken, double bed instead of queen, bathroom floor dirty or stained with mold, shower dirty. Old part of motel. Looked better in newer part.

Good for the price - posted on 06/28/2006

Stayed for 6 nights for a conference because it was cheaper than the host hotel and within walking distance. Not far from Manhattan/Hermosa beach areas. Breakfast is lousy, but there is an IHOP and Starbucks nearby. Room was fine, not many cable channels and no movies available though (I was rather bored one gloomy evening). Staff could be a little more friendly. Shuttle isn't 24 hrs, so I had to take a cab when my flight got in at 1am.

Avoid This Hotel - posted on 06/14/2006

The room smelled, and half the features didn't work. I had prepaid on the internet. They took my credit card for incidentals, then charged it again for the room.

Transportation - posted on 06/13/2006

Most of the hotels near LAX have free transportation running 24 hours. This hotel offered free shuttle service, but you had to call for it. That wasn't clear and I waited for a long time before figuring it out.

Don't stay here - posted on 05/30/2006

DO NOT STAY HERE!! The rooms smell terrible! Even in the non-smoking rooms you can hardly breathe. Breakfast doesn't deserve to be called that way. They have coffee, tea and bread that was too awful to eat.

Horrible - posted on 12/28/2005

The hotel is horrible. The service is worse than horrible. My husband is sure this hotel is rented by the hour only. We did not have a good experience with this hotel. Our plane landed at approximately 9:20 pm. I called them to pick us up and we were picked up at approximately midnight. When I asked about being at the airport the next morning at 6am I was informed we would have to take a cab as their service does not start until 7:30 am . When I visited the sight it claimed their service started at 4:30 am. I asked for a non-smoking room and the room smelled of rancid cigarettes. We spoke to the attendant through a little window and I swear it was something out of the movies. We were in bed by 1am and left the hotel by 3:30 am because the smell of cigarettes was so strong it was choking me. (since I am allergic to cigarettes). My husband left the hotel feeling disgusted and dirty. It was a total waste of time and money. We would have had more rest at the airport. I hope someone actually responds to this complaint.

They do not live up to their claims - posted on 05/18/2005

We called from the airport and they said they would be there in 15 minutes, then did not show. When we called back they told us to take a cab. Loud partying at night that they would not do anything about. older facilities that are not quite clean. When we checked in, there were 2 other families that were upset about lack of follow through on advertising at the counter.

Our Stay at The Travelodge South LAX - posted on 04/04/2005

Room was clean & spacious was surprised to find a fridge & microwave, although we didn't use them. The only thing that concerned me was the security. It seemed like it would be easy for someone to access the room through the door.
