Guests at this hotel will wake up to the sound of the Pacific Ocean waves crashing outside their bedroom. Del Mar Motel is the only hotel directly on the beach in Del Mar. The beach here is great for jogging, long strolls as the sun sets and surfing. Children can enjoy splashing around in the soft waves. Next door to the hotel are two fantastic seafood restaurants. Del Mar boasts many fine restaurants offering both casual and elegant dining. Downtown Del Mar is the perfect beachside town to enjoy dinner, a coffee or just pass the afternoon strolling around. The Del Mar Racetracks offers plenty of opportunities to place a bet or enjoy a cocktail as the horses race the track. The San Diego Fair is always good for a fun time. Del Mar is next to many seaside villages such as Solano Beach and Carlsbad. For those that want an active weekend, there are plenty of cycling and running trails in the area.
