The 233-room Marriott Tucson University Park is located at the main gate of The University of Arizona and provides affordable luxury accommodation for both the business and leisure traveler. The nine-story non-smoking hotel is close to Tucson's most lively social and cultural neighborhood with over 30 restaurants, shops and four museums. There are 12 meeting rooms for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 1,100 guests. Items included with the room rate at this full service hotel include local telephone calls, a morning newspaper and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Area attractions and landmarks include the U.S.-Mexico border, Davis Monthan AFB, the Arizona Desert Museum and the Desert Diamond Casino.

Many travelers said this was a great Marriott with comfortable accommodation and a crew of friendly and efficient employees. The location was ideal, within walking distance of restaurants and bars, and the river flowing through the lobby was an impressive feature. Words of advice from previous guests: If you valet park, call ahead for your car. Since the parking garage is across the street it can take 20 minutes for your vehicle to arrive. Clients who paid extra to be on a concierge level said it was worth paying the extra dollars. Marriott Tucson University Park Accommodations

All the guestrooms, and 17 suites, have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, pullout sofa bed, trouser press, hairdryer and two-line telephone with voicemail. Some rooms have the added benefit of a refrigerator and microwave oven.

The hotel’s Saguaro Grill Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room service is available from 6.00am until 11pm. There are several places to eat close to the hotel including the Frog and Firkin, Baskin Robbins, Dunkin Donuts, Gentle Ben’s Microbrewery and Johnny Rockets. The hotel has an outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool and fitness center. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and can arrange for babysitters. Other amenities include a concierge desk, coin-operated laundry, full service business center, vending machines, an ATM, valet-dry cleaning, shoeshine stand and a gift shop and newsstand.

From Tucson Airport (TUS) 8 miles: Exit the airport on Tucson Boulevard. Turn left on Valencia traveling west. Turn right on Park traveling north. Park will become Euclid, continue north. Turn right on 2nd Street traveling east. The hotel is located on the right side, one block.
