Customer Reviews for Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort At Gainey Ranch

Nice Hotel Lacking Customer Service - posted on 12/19/2006

The hotel is very nice and has many ammenities. The downside is their customer service which is very weak. We found that the staff was very young and did not handle well the discriminating international traveller. Additionally, the location requires you to have a car otherwise you are limited to very expensive cab fares to and from all the locations you want to visit.

A wonderful hotel. My family and I really enjoyed staying there, and I reccommend it to all.

Heaven - posted on 08/12/2006

Enjoyed every moment, service was top notch and the landscape was absolutely beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. The only complaint I would have was there was some maintenance going on outside our room and I feel the guests should be informed of that prior to the work.

Nice Place / Kids Program Needs Help - posted on 07/18/2006

We booked 3 rooms at this hotel for 5 nights due to misleading advertising on the website on the kids program. We did enjoy our stay and the golf course is great, but the kids program was basically baby sitting with little excitement for the kids -- very very disappointing. Fortunately they were only there through lunch each day.

should be 3 star - posted on 04/18/2006

Very dissapointed with service-had to wait in line at check in, rooms not 4.5 star clean, dirty bedding, lost reservations, fire alarm went off to clear hotel, power outage for 30 minutes. Water park was one water slide. Food and rooms overpriced. Would not recommend to families.

Fun in the Sun - posted on 04/16/2006

This was an ideal vacation in the sun for our 25th Anniversary. We wanted to go to the beaches in California but it was rainy and in the 60s even in SanDiego. Scottsdale was warm and the hotel even had a beach, and a lake with a Gondola ride. We would come again.

Great Escape - posted on 04/12/2006

Very nice resort hotel. Excellent service. Very helpful staff from concierge desk to the bell staff and wait staff in the hotel restaurants. The golf course was in excellent shape and challenging. Very relaxing atmosphere would definitely return.

Big Disappointment - posted on 04/01/2006

Was SO disappointed in this resort! Advertised "10 pools" and waterpark...was nothing more than one large pool divided up into smaller ones and the "water park" consisted of a water slide. My kids were so disappointed. Multiple requests for extra towels and a refrigerator were ignored. Rooms were minimal....especially for the price. We had multiple charges on our bill that staff could not explain or itemize.

an oasis - posted on 03/30/2006

went with 2 grown daughters for a "sun" break. This place was so nice. Beds were very comfortable. Very clean. Excellent staff. Kid friendly. AMAZING massage @ spa. Only complaint is I wish a cont. breakfast came with price of room/or a refrigerator to bring your own snacks, etc. Food is EXPENSIVE. Otherwise I Loved this oasis.

March Meeting - posted on 03/19/2006

Nice facilities. It would have been nice to know that fees were charged in advance. I would have used the health club. Gondeliers were a nice touch. Could have had more shopping on site. Drive up area was congested and tough to use.

Great, if you can sleep through anything - posted on 08/10/2005

Pools, waterslide, food, and amenities were wonderful, but we lost a lot of sleep at night due to the loud air conditioning system. The thermostat would announce itself with a loud click, followed by jet sounds through the ducts. Asked at the front desk about this and they said all rooms were equipped the same, and only the luxury suites had quieter systems. Not staying here again.

Resort Fee - posted on 07/22/2005

Beware the $12 a day "resort fee". It wasn't mentioned until check out and I paid for services that I wouldn't have used on vacation (e.g., unlimited faxes) . I would have used the health club if I had known it was part of the daily $12 that I got socked with on the way out. Very poor communication with no apologies.

Great place to vacation with your family. The pools are amazing. Beautiful landsacape. The help is very friendly and accomodating. The golf couses are very nice and great for the yougsters however we found some staff members at Gainey Ranch Golf course very unfriendly. We will return this April again for a few days while heading to our Hyatt Timeshare in Sedona. For a family that owns and runs a hotel, we have to say the Hyatt is a gem.
