Marriott's Canyon Villas at Desert Ridge is a Marriott Vacation Club time-share resort with 252 luxury one and two bedroom villas ideally suited to the upmarket leisure traveler. The three-story, non-smoking resort adjoins the two Wildfire Gold Courses and the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. The resort will be under construction until 2010. The property is a short drive from downtown Phoenix, Arizona State University and downtown Tempe. Other area landmarks and attractions include the Phoenix Museum of History, South Mountain Park, the Bank One Ballpark, Phoenix Zoo, the Firebird Raceway, Desert Botanical Gardens, Desert Ridge Market Place, Grand Canyon National Park, historic old town Scottsdale and shopping at Paradise Valley Mall and the Arizona Mills Mall.

Families said this was a fabulous place to spend a vacation. The villas were fully equipped and the employees were incredibly friendly and helpful. Being able to use the facilities of the neighboring JW Marriott Desert Resort and Spa was a major benefit. The resort is still under construction but that was not a problem for those who stayed here. Marriott Vacation Club Canyon Villa Accommodations

All the villas have either a private balcony or patio. The master bedrooms have a king sized bed, large tub and separate shower. The fully equipped kitchens have a microwave oven, refrigerator with ice marker, stove, coffee maker, toaster and a full supply of cutlery and crockery. Other amenities include a separate living and dining area, breakfast bar, television with cable movie and news channels, DVD player, in-room safe, utility room with a washer-dryer, alarm clock, iron and ironing board and cordless telephone with speakerphone and voicemail.

Amenities offered

The resort has a lap pool, children’s swimming pool, an outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool and a fitness center. On-site restaurants include the Canyon Springs Pool Bar, Blue Sage by Mark Miller, a Starbucks Coffee, the Meritage Steakhouse and the Royal Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine. There is a concierge desk, on-site laundry, valet dry-cleaning, limousine service, an ATM and a gift shop and newsstand. The 28,000 square-foot spa at the adjacent JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa has 41 private treatment rooms.

From Phoenix Airport (PHX) 30 miles: Take I-10 W to Highway 51 N to Loop 101 E to Tatum Boulevard Exit North (left). Proceed to the next major street Deer Valley Road and turn right. Make a left turn at Marriott Drive and proceed to the second roundabout to Canyon Villas entrance.
