The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott Phoenix is located near the airport and is designed for extended stay business and leisure travelers. The 168 suites at this two-story, non-smoking hotel have fully equipped kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, a manager’s reception on Monday through Thursday evenings, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. There are three meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 100 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include five golf courses, the US Airways Center, Peoria Sports Complex, downtown Phoenix, IMAX Theatre, Bank One Ballpark, the BLM National Training Center and shopping at the Metrocenter Mall and Arizona Mills Outlet.

Visitors to Phoenix say this Marriott property offers great value and is ideal for either a one-night stop or an extended stay. Management responded quickly to complaints about slow Internet access. The provider has been changed and those complaints have stopped. There is not a lot within walking of the hotel but access to the expressway is easy putting all parts of the city within a short drive. The suites have a fully equipped kitchen with a conventional and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, two-line telephone with voicemail, television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, pullout sofa bed, hairdryer, alarm clock and an iron and ironing board. Some suites have a fireplace.

From Phoenix Airport (PHX) 15 miles: Take I-10 West on-ramp five miles to I-17 North. Proceed seven miles to Dunlap exit. Turn left on Dunlap and stay in far left lane. Turn left on I-17 Frontage Road. Go to right lane. Go South 1/2 mile. The hotel is on the right side of Frontage Road.
