The hotel seemed like it was made from an older house but refurbished. Over all the is an awesome hotel I suggest more people stay there especially when friends stay together there.

This well-maintained older hotel is conveniently located no more than two blocks from the train station and downtown. We could walk everywhere we needed to go. We had a corner room/fully-equipped kitchenette suite with views of cook inlet and the snow-capped mountains. It was clean and I felt safe and welcomed with my two young children. Room rates are reasonably priced (for Alaska) and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Close to the action; fully equipped kitchen suite; room was clean & well-maintained.

Lobby stunk like cat pee; stairs to elevator made it tricky w/a lot of luggage.

Spotted in downtown walking distance from various attractions such as the Museum of History and Art and the convention center, the Anchorage Grand Hotel is a wonderful retreat for visitors of Anchorage. The hotel is adjacent to the coastal trail which makes it a cinch if you ever want to go outside for a walk and take in the day while beholding beautiful coastal views. The buildings structure design dates back to 1950, but it has been recently renovated and embraced with a mix of modern eloquence which is evident in the common areas as well as in the luxurious suites.

The rooms are large, comfortable, well decorated and the entire place is very clean. Location is superb. A short walk to much of what downtown has to offer including a variety of restaurants and great shopping as well as the Alaska Railroad Station. More than worth the price. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Service is all that you can expect and more. Breakfast is great and succulent.
