Hotel was nice but not worth the normal amount they charge. The beds were wonderful, the view great, the staff friendly. However, the grout in the shower was dirty. There was dirt and handprints on the bathroom door. Walls are thin so I was privy to comversations and activities in other rooms and in the hall.I didn't like to have to pay for parking a block away and walk alone to the hotel in downtown at night in -2 temps.

The Hilton stands tall in the center of downtown Anchorage. Boasting 600 rooms, the Hilton is one of the premier hotels in the city. Located on the corners or 3rd and E streets, you can walk just about anywhere. Enjoy Ship Creek for a day of fishing (King and Silver Salmon), Nordstrom and the 5th Avenue Mall for some serious shopping, or go around the corner to the visitors cabin where a shuttle will whisk you off to nearby area attractions. The Top of the World Lounge and the connected deck provide incredible views and a relaxing atmosphere. You can chose to eat "in" or walk to one of the many restaurants in the area.

Get a room with a view! The Cook Inlet is off to the North & West. The Chugach Mountains are to the East. This hotel also has air conditioning, don't laugh, in Alaska that is not a standard feature. I love the Hilton Anchorage. From the stuffed bears in the entry, the very busy lobby with tour groups and brass buttoned bell hops, the helpful concierge and front desk staff, to the Top of the World Lounge with live music, open air deck and informal BBQ. It is a place where visitors and locals alike can enjoy being at the center of everything, as far as Anchorage is concerned.
