This hotel was just what we needed for the weekend. It was very nice, seemed to be in a safe location and was close to the Summit and convenient to other locations because it was near I-459.

Very nice lobby and helpful staff.

Cereal on breakfast menu was too expensive.

Pretty nice for a short getaway weekend. Extremely comfortable bed. Very helpful staff. The location was not the best. But overall a pretty good place to stay.

The front desk clerk was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to show me how to get around.

The location was not the greatest. I had to drive a bit to get to the places I like to eat and shop.

The 295-room Marriott Birmingham was designed for the business traveler but is equally suited to the tourist seeking quality accommodation at an affordable price. The eight-story, non-smoking full-service hotel has 15 meeting rooms for business or social events. The largest, the Birmingham Ballroom, can accommodate 700 guests. Items included with the room rate are a morning newspaper, parking, local telephone calls and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The hotel adjoins the Grandview Corporate Park. Area landmarks and attractions include the Alabama Adventure Amusement Park, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame and the Mercedes Benz factory and visitor center.

All the guestrooms, and four suites, have a large work desk with high-speed Internet access. Couples said this was a great place for a weekend getaway. They noted that the rates were lower since the business clients stayed at home. Many liked the quiet location and pleasant walks close to the property. Other plus factors were the flat-screen televisions, the large fitness center and a crew of employees eager to help and assist. Minor grip was the $9.95 daily charge for Internet access.
