Just the Right Hotel - posted on 04/09/2006

President Solitaire is just the right hotel for my stay in Bangkok. In a quiet side street of Sukhumvit, there's no annoying noise of a busy main street, yet within walking distrance to the Skytrain Station. The staff are extra friendly. They even sent me a birthday cake on my birthday! *** at the desk is very helpful in planning my daily activities. and the Ananda Spa is to die for! It's quiet, clean, and no tour groups!

I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the room and saw all of the amenities. This is by far the best place in Bangkok I have seen and I will look no further. Excellent breakfast buffet started every morning. Room was outstanding

Staff are friendly and helpful. Perfect location within the city. Reasonable price for such a spacious room. For sure will stay there again on my next trip.

One Night Stay - posted on 12/02/2005

This was a great hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. The best thing about them is the huge flat screen T.V. I would definitely recommend staying there and if and when I return wouldn't stay anywhere else. However I was only there for one night so I'm not sure how close all of the shopping or action is.

This place is a real gem. Take hotel shuttle or motorcycle taxi at 7-11. Re Taxes, the standard in Thailand is rates by '+' or '++'. The ++ includes VAT and taxes. This is regarding hotels in general, and in their defense, nothing in particular about President Solitaire.

A nice surprise - posted on 08/10/2005

Stayed for four nights. We have been to Bangkok several times.Distance to the skytrain is 5 mins walk/stroll.Another option is the hotel shuttle, available at your convenience, rain or shine- to drive you along the short stretch of soi 11- important for us with a 10 months old baby. Hotel employees are friendly and always helpful. The Premiere suite, nice sized with a little kitchenette perfect for family. Reasonable room rate. Used the babysitting service for three nights to our satisfaction. The buffet breakfast was good too. Summary - I'd stay there again with my family.

Rates Misrepresented - posted on 06/13/2005

Reservations made at what I felt was a reasonable rate. Not including taxes. Taxes at most hotels throughout the world are 10 to 12 %. This hotel charged 24% so, booking & value rate is very deceiving. Hotel is very nice, staff and service is excellant, but will not stay again because I feel like I was mislead about rates. The price was still worth the stay, but feel hotel tries to deceive potential guest.
