Customer Reviews for Grand President Suites & Studios

cheap but below par - posted on 04/24/2007

I booked the hotel and flight together. They put me in Tower 1 which was a joke. They gave me a lot of run around before they were willing to give me a room in Tower 1 or 2. There was daily room service but the cleanliness was questionable. Staff at the restaurant were friendly and clean. Breakfast was catered to Westerners which was good. Yes, it you decide to stay here, make sure you stay in Tower 1 or 2.

The Grand President - posted on 12/17/2006

First the hotel's website it said that it was 15 minutes from the airport and it was actually 30-40 minutes. The rooms was totally different from the site, I got Tower 3 which looked like a roach motel, when I asked to be moved to tower 1 or 2 they said no rooms were available. The service was exelent all the staff was so polite and helpful that I wanted to take them home with me. The Gym was shabby consisting of outdated equipment. I would recomend this hotel but before you book call and ask for tower 1 or 2. Good luck and enjoy because I did in a strange sort of way lol.

Two nights at the Grand President - posted on 11/07/2006

I was impressed by the service at this hotel. My first room was near an area that had been renovated. When the bellman came with the luggage, he insisted I be moved because of a strong chemical smell. When I was 20 baht short of the limo fee back to the airport (a Mercedes), the limo lady cut the fare 100 baht. Good value, decent location, wake-up to the sound of howler monkeys.

Sukhimvit ! - posted on 07/22/2006

The G.P. is good value and good location. Go for the Executive Suite upgrade, as the Topaz rooms are a bit small. Well worth it. 3 pools !! Good Breakfast buffet. Just down the block from Nana BTS Station. Great street food and shopping on Sukhimvit Rd. Close to Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza and Lui's Bootery ! Woohoo !!

Good Value - posted on 05/30/2006

Well located and clean. Heart of Sukumivit. Very close to BTS Skytrain (don't bother with taxi's, tuk tuk's, or traffic either) for easy Bangkok sightseeing. Great shopping, restaurant's, nightlife. Very Clean rooms with fridge, safe, quiet AC units. Beautiful roof top pool area and adjacent coin laundry. Very good lobby restaurant for breakfast. German beer bar/sportsbar/restaurant. Staff speaks english well/appreciates attempts by you to speak in Thai. Cheers.

Great location, NOt-so-Great Rooms - posted on 12/16/2005

Room looks bleak without full carpeting. The cooking area is irrelevant if you are not looking for a service apartment to stay in. Needs larger windows. But all these are compensated by its close proximity to Sukhumvit Road, Nana BTS and the various night spots around. Staff is friendly, and travellers shouldn check out the German beerhouse.

Good buy - posted on 06/01/2005

This is cozy hotel located in a very central area of Bangkok. There are different categories of room. I stayed in what they call the Topaz Studio, which a fully serviced studio apartment with a decently equipped kitchen. There's a decent swimming pool up on the ninth floor. Food in the restaurants is ok. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from Nana BTS station, which will take you to some of the key destinations in Bangkok. Overall, I'm a satisfied customer and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for good value for money.

Select carefully - posted on 05/13/2005

The rooms are (very) tired, bathrooms small and dark. Still reasonable value if U go for the ROYAL SUITE. That will give U a lot of space with separate living room, bedroom, bathroom and bar corner for still an affordable price. Don't go for anything smaller then the Royal suite. The smaller rooms are not worth the price and some have (almost) no windows. Breakfast is medium and the rest of the food (lunch and dinner) is worthless. Lots of food to choose from in close neighbourhood. Easy walking distance from sky train.
