Customer Reviews for Shangri-La Hotel

Beautiful Hotel - posted on 04/19/2006

I stayed here in April. The service was excellent. One reason we stayed here was for the skytrain location, however we only used it once -the taxi's are so cheap - u can get anywhere in the city for 1 - 2 dollars. Also, the hotel has a "limo" service (just a mercedes) for 20 dollars an hour. The pool area is very relaxing The Jets plays there 5 nights a week - they busted out with Jack Johnson one night! Two of my friends stayed in the Horizon Club - their room included a small living room, and a free breakfast buffet.

Solid Hotel but needs work on customer service - posted on 03/06/2006

This hotel is a great hotel for business travelers. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is amazing and the hotel is in a good location. The biggest challenge my fianc?nd I had was trying to do things. Although English is spoken here it?s like not being at a Hilton in Key West. You can?t just ask and get what you want, which was the most frustrating thing to me. The bottom line is given I don?t speak Thai there was a major language barrier. My suggestions: Hire a limo when you need to travel. For about 900 Baht or $24 (at the time) you can have a car and drive for 1 hour.

Stayed in Apartments, great deal - posted on 08/07/2005

I stayed in Shangrila apartment for a month. Price very reasonable and room gorgeous with balcony and river view. Pools, public areas, restaurants, all great, service incredible. Don't know about regular rooms, but they are pricey. Great location right by Skytrain, and in fun area, though far from center by foot. Great hotel, would stay again and will.

Great River Views - posted on 05/12/2005

I've stayed at this hotel 6 times. The lobby is very nice, but the standard rooms in the Shangr-La wing are somewhat disappointing for the price, especially the bathrooms. I usually upgraded to a suite or horizon room, which were well worth the extra cost.

barefoot guests in the lobby, and could not believe my eyes. this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, not a cheap motel. it reminds me of the hotels in las vegas--glitzy lobby. cannot fault the location however.
