Named after the five conservation shop houses built in 1929 that now make up the hotel, Hotel 1929 is located within the Chinatown historical enclave. Approximately half a mile from the hotel is the business district, and Club Street, a stretch of three-storey shop houses that are home to a collection of trendy eateries and bars, art galleries and specialty shops, and boutique spas. The Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre is two and a half miles from the hotel. The hotel is also home to Restaurant Ember serving modern European cuisine.

The layout and design of each room in this boutique hotel are restricted by the structure and limited space of the building, so rooms are smaller than those of standard hotels. Hotel 1929 Accommodations

Each of the 32 rooms at Hotel 1929 have a different layout, are individually designed and feature a designer chair. Some rooms also have a small terrace overlooking the road. All rooms have individually controlled air conditioning, satellite television, mini refrigerator, in-room safe, high speed Internet access, telephone with International Direct Dial, coffee/tea making facility, and complimentary breakfast at Restaurant Ember.

By MRT: Alight at Outram Park station and exit to Eu Tong Sen Street. Walk in the same direction of traffic, passing Pearl’s Centre. At the traffic light, cross Eu Tong Sen Street and New Bridge Road. Walk against the flow of traffic along Kreta Ayer Road, turning right to Keong Saik Road. Hotel 1929 is the first building on the left side of the road.

By car: From the airport, travel along the East Coast Parkway in the direction of the city. Continue along East Coast Parkway Exit 17 then take slip road on to Prince Edward Road. Take a right on to Anson Road, followed by a left on to Choon Guan Street. Get on the slip road leading to Maxwell Road. Turn left on to Tanjong Pagar Road followed by another left on to Neil Road. After a short distance, turn right on to Kreta Ayer Road then turn left on to Keong Saik Road and arrive at Hotel 1929.
