The Orchard Hotel is very well-located on Orchard Road in Singapore. The staff are very friendly and the hotel feels welcoming. We found the room to be a bit shabby for the price (sagging matress, etc) It was also somewhat loud upstairs and in the rooms around us. In addition, there was construction work going on in the hotel which started around 8am so it wasn't a great place for jet lag! I would find another place to stay in Singapore next time.

The Orchard Hotel has an okay location, at the end of Orchard Road, and the lobby is large and inviting. That's where the good stuff ends, unfortunately. The rooms are small and in need of updating. The bathroom fixtures were literally falling apart. There was loud construction on the floor above all day.

Orchard Hotel Singapore is located just off the popular Orchard Road shopping stretch. Within walking distance are Hard Rock Cafe Singapore and Palais Renaissance luxury boutique shopping complex. The Clarke Quay dining & entertainment stretch by the Singapore river is one and a half miles away. Approximately two miles away are the business district, Esplanade Theatres on the Bay and Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The Cantonese cuisine offered at the hotels Hua Ting restaurant is highly recommended: the restaurant was awarded Asian Ethnic Restaurant at the World Gourmet Summit 2003 & 2005, while its Master Chef Chan Kwok won Asian Ethnic Chef of the Year 2005.
