The hotel is in need of some refurbishing at some point, but the Executive Room I booked (9th floor) was quite large and the bed comfortable. The location is great with plenty of shopping and food possibilities. Has a fairly big fitness area and outdoor pool, and even onsite doctor's clinic (reassuring for elderly or persons who are ill). The restaurant is reasonable by international standards - I recommend the express breakfast in the lobby which is a steal at s$9.-

I was expecting a better experience, but was a bit disappointed by the condition of the rooms. It's time for a renovation--rooms are clean, but noticed cracked countertop surfaces, mildew on shower curtain, and chipped furniture. Internet at $28 per day is a ripoff, and breakfast is expensive if not included in price. Location is great, although it is above a seedy shopping area with bars and massage places. Next time I will look elsewhere.

Visited during the IMF conference and was booked into a Presidential Suite - not by my book! Switched to a room at half of that price midway through my stay and the only difference was the bed size. The second room's bath was a disaster - toilet stained and tub loosing its finish - old and tired says it all. My biggest complaint was that they had the gall to charge S$35++ for internet - talk about driving the business man away! Next trip definately I will be somewhere else.

The Meridien enjoys a great location on Orchard Road... too bad that from Orchard, you enter the hotel through the rear and go up through a shopping area which includes some dodgy massage places. But the service is good and, more often than not, they have upgraded my room to a higher category.

I travel to Singpore somewhat regularly and have stayed at quite a few hotels. This hotel works best for me. I like the location on Orchard--not as crowded, but a short walk to all the shopping. The staff is the best I have seen in Singapore. The rooms are good size. My only complaint is that they charge S$28++ per day for Internet--it ought to be free. In any case, I'll keep coming back.

Our stay at the Le Meridien in Singapore was wonderful. This hotel is located right on Orchard Road. It is an easy walk to most of the shopping malls and there many restaurants within walking distance plus there are even food courts below the hotel. There is a MRT station a short walk from the hotel as well. It's just past a Starbucks coffee shop. The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff, many shops, good room, spacious, we were upgraded to a junior suite, thank you;service is very good.
