Ponce Hotel Guide Cheap Ponce Hotels

As one of the largest cities in Puerto Rico, Ponce has worked hard on keeping its charm… and they have succeeded. The entire city is quite simply lovely. The architecture, museums and sites are fantastic and the people are warm and friendly. Showcasing the beauty that thrives in Puerto Rico, Ponce is a wonderful place to explore.

It is well known for the success it has had in restoring the historic buildings. However, they have focused on more than the buildings alone. The pathways are created from marble, gas lamps line the sides and there are no overhead wires to be seen. You might even see a horse-drawn carriage make its way past you. They even have a road affectionately known as Lover’s Alley. There is a feeling here that you have stepped back into time and yet, you are still able to enjoy the luxuries of today.

The Ponce Museum of Art is one of the very best galleries in all of Puerto Rico. Filled with over 3,000 exquisite pieces, the collections showcase a range of styles and artists. Yes, the architecture of Ponce is truly beautiful but no trip could be considered complete without a visit to this museum. The Serralles Castle is another popular place to visit. Overlooking Ponce, it was built back in the 1930s but now houses a museum that showcases the effect the sugarcane industry had on the country.

In addition to spending a lot of time at preserving the architecture of the city, Ponce has also created and maintained fantastic bike paths. Although there are a few trails that would be considered fairly easy, there are also routes that are far more intense. Those interested in sports will want to try and catch a basketball game at the Juan Pachín Vicéns Auditorium. The Leones de Ponce are an incredible basketball team with many national titles under their belt. What goes hand in hand with sports? A tasty beverage, that’s what. Head over to the Serralles Rum Distillery to learn more about the rum you are enjoying. They are the creators of Don Q and Captain Morgan. You can also spend an evening at the Hilton Hotel’s casino and try out your luck.

Perhaps you made a little money at the tables but even if you were not so lucky, the shopping in Ponce is always enjoyable. Visit the marketplace and explore the many handmade crafts. Make your way down Paseo Atocha and browse through the fantastic boutiques that line the street. This street also has a festival once per month.

The sheer beauty of Ponce is reason enough to come. Spend time wandering the streets, browse through the stores or relax at an outdoor café on Plaza Las Delicias. However you decide to spend your time, Ponce will truly leave you wanting more.
