This is a 289-room modern and elegant hotel located at the centre of Merida's business and commercial district. Hyatt Regency Merida is designed for the vacationer but has good facilities for the businessman. Merida is the capital of the State of Yucatan, southeast Mexico. Yucatan is an historically rich region of Mexico, home to the ancient Mayan culture. The hotel is a few minutes from downtown Merida and 10 kilometers from the airport. Nearby attractions include the Uxmal and Chichen-Itza sites, Dzibichaltun Mayan site, the Balakanche and Loltun caves and the Museum of Anthropology and Natural History.

Pleasant rooms and happy, friendly staff are two reason former guests enjoyed their stay here. The breakfasts were great but some did not think the restaurants served top quality cuisine at dinner time. Some tips from earlier visitors: Ask for a room with a pool view, money spent on upgrading to a Regency Club room is well spent, and car rental rates from the hotel are attractive so don’t waste time shopping around. Hyatt Regency Merida Accommodations

The least expensive 32-square-meter rooms have views of the swimming pool or tennis courts. Features include a king-sized bed, separate sitting area, work desk with Internet access, marble bathroom, hairdryer, satellite TV, coffee maker, in-room safe, iron and ironing board and a minibar. Room service is available 24/7.

There are two floodlit tennis courts, gymnasium, steam room, massage, Jacuzzi, juice bar and an outdoor swimming pool which features a swim-up snack bar and whirlpool. The Peregrina Bistro, open from 6.30 am until 11pm, serves an extensive breakfast buffet as well as international dishes during the day. Spasso Restaurant and Bar offers Italian favorites. Other services include: Laundry and dry-cleaning, travel agency and tour desk and currency exchange. The business center can provide secretarial and translation services.

From the Airport: Follow the signs to the city centre until Avenida Itzaes. At the Miguel Hidalgo roundabout, turn right following the roundabout on Avenida Colon to Calle 60 and the hotel is located in the intersection of these two streets. From Merida Train Station: Exit and turn left onto 46th Street. Follow 46th Street one block and turn right on 57th Street. Follow 57th Street until you reach Calle 60. Turn right on Calle 60. Follow it until you reach the Avenida Colon intersection, where the hotel is located.
