Ixtapa Hotel Guide Cheap Ixtapa Hotels

Ixtapa, together with the town known as Zihuatanejo, is a wonderful Mexican destination. With a perfect location along the Pacific Ocean and showcasing green hills and white sandy beaches, both can offer you a great sun holiday. Interestingly enough Ixtapa was created from the ground up. That means it had vacationers in mind when it was built. It even comes complete with cobblestone streets and fantastic resorts.

Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are often associated together because of their close proximity to one another but they are also quite different from each other. Zihuatanejo is more authentically Mexican of the two areas. Although it has beautiful resorts, beaches and provides fantastic views, it also has a downtown that acts as a marketplace that sells the latest catch of the day. Even as it continues to grow, the locals and tourists are quite relaxed.

Ixtapa was built for the sole purpose of being a destination resort. It is here that you will find a total of ten fantastic beaches. This means that there is a wealth of fantastic water activities for you to enjoy. Snorkeling, swimming, diving and even parasailing are all on the menu for you to enjoy. Both Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are also great places to go surfing. One of Ixtapa’s most popular beaches is Playa Cuachalalate. Just across lies Playa Varadero, which is a great place to go snorkeling. Both of these offer restaurants and rental huts for you to enjoy as well. Playa Linda is home to many fantastic resorts and Playa Carey is probably one of the less developed beaches in the area.

Ixtapa is a well-developed resort destination where you will be able to find grocery stores and places to do some shopping. The area’s hotel zone is known as El Palmer. Take a break from the beach and enjoy the quaint stores and fantastic restaurants located throughout the area. One of the most beautiful places to enjoy a meal is at La Marina de Ixtapa. With the docks full of beautiful boats and yachts, the restaurants that line this area provide you with great views.

Although neither place offers a wealth of sightseeing opportunities, the beaches and beautiful scenery are reasons enough to come. Together, Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are fantastic Mexican destinations where shoppers can find their souvenirs, water lovers will get their fill of exotic ocean life and those simply wanting to relax can, well, relax.
