Cancun is proud to be Mexico's top tourist destination. The locals have worked hard to create the perfect beach getaway for you to enjoy. Located on the tip of the Yucatan peninsula, you’ll relish its white sand beaches, gleaming blue waters and sunny skies. Cancun can be divided into two sections. The first is the Zona Hotelera, the hotel zone. It’s a fourteen-mile long island where most of the tourists spend their sunny days. There’s the Caribbean Sea to one side and a lagoon on the other. The lagoon is ideal for lots of water sports. Because most of the tourists come to this part of Cancun, you’ll find a perfect tropical setting together with the luxuries of the 21st century.

Mainland Cancun has a much different ambience, since it’s where the locals call home. You’ll experience a truer sense of Cancun. There aren’t any malls or air-conditioned restaurants. Here, you’ll find outdoor café’s and street vendors. Your wallet will be happier as your money will stretch a lot further here than in the hotel zone. Although it doesn’t have the glitz of the hotel zone, you’ll appreciate the atmosphere it provides.

If you’re deciding on coming to Cancun, it’s probably to sit and enjoy the beach. The sand does feel like powder and the water is very refreshing. You’ll be able to go diving and snorkeling or try your luck catching a few fish or even go parasailing. But if you need a break from all the glorious white sand, or if you just need to let your bathing suit dry out for a bit, there is quite a bit to explore. The entire area is well known for its archeological sites that date back thousands of years. There are museums and historical centers that reflect on the Mayan civilization. There’s also the Cancun Convention Center. The museum located on the ground floor showcases an impressive collection of 1,000 to 1,500-year-old artifacts and is a nice way to spend the day if you’ve had too much sun or if it decides to rain for a bit.

Even if you spend your entire day on the beach, somehow you’ll work up an appetite and you won’t be disappointed in Cancun. There are lots of great places to choose a fantastic meal. Choose from a taco stand or a gourmet meal, you will love the dining options right at your fingertips.

After dinner you can spend your nights grooving to live music or great DJs. Whether it’s at a nightclub, disco or a bar you’ll be amazed at how quickly the night flies by.

Cancun is a great place to kick off your sandals and put on your dancing shoes. You can sleep the day away on the beach and stay up all night dancing to the music. Explore the ruins or snorkel in the ocean. Whatever you choose, you’ll love your time in Cancun.
