The hotel exceeded my expectations. This is a great hotel for business travelers, couples seekeing a romantic getaway, or visitors to Universal Studios Japan. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for travelors wanting to experience Osaka nightlife.

The service was excellent with fluent English speaking staff.

I did not like having to call rooms service for my own ice.

This 500-room resort overlooks Osaka Bay on Cosmo Square, Osaka's new business district. The Hyatt Regency Osaka has all the benefits of a city hotel with the features of a resort. The property is adjacent to INTEX Osaka, the Asia Pacific Trade Centre, and just 45 minutes from Osaka and Kansai International Airport. It is close to the cruise ship terminal for those who want some luxury accommodation before, or after sailing. There are full facilities for the business traveler and the leisure traveler will enjoy the pool, upmarket spa and an incredible choice of fine dining.

Rooms have great views over the city and harbor and there is a choice of either a queen or two twin beds. Modern decor is accented by elegant Japanese touches including a black marble bathroom, 24-hour room service and a Japanese tea making facility. Other features include a hairdryer, minibar, satellite TV, dual line phones and an in-room safe. A newspaper is delivered each morning.

The City Country Club is the hotels health and fitness centre which has an exercise room, aerobics studio, heated indoor lap pool, sauna, steam bath, hot and cold plunge pools, Jacuzzis, shiatsu massage and a relaxation lounge. The outdoor swimming pool set in a lush garden alongside the split-level Pergola restaurant. Also in the hotel: A florist, drugstore, beauty salon and business center. Dining options: Tenkuh is the hotel's signature restaurant, located on the 28th floor, featuring nouvelle Chinese-style cuisine. Irodori is a modern Japanese restaurant overlooking a tranquil bamboo garden. The Café has buffets for breakfast lunch and dinner. There is also an Italian restaurant and a take-away bakery.

The attentive and friendly service from hotel employees was a major plus for many happy clients who stayed here. There were some minor complaints about the hotel being a long way from downtown but others liked that. The hotel does run a free shuttle to the rail station. A dirty carpet and worn furniture were also problems. Those who complained about such things were moved to other rooms and no doubt by now the carpet has either been cleaned or replaced. Likewise the furniture.
