As one of the largest cities in Fiji, Nadi provides you with a different kind of Fiji experience. Most of the islands boast stunning beaches but Nadi is for those travelers who either want to stay at a resort or want to do a little sightseeing. Located about ten minutes away from the airport, Nadi has also become a popular destination for travelers on their way to Australia or New Zealand. Take the time to discover what it has to offer though as it does showcase some of Fiji's history.

The town of Nadi has a number of hotels that range from your basic place to rest your head to some of the finest this country has to offer. The Nadi River snakes its way through the downtown area and separates two of Nadi's most popular tourist attractions. The first is Viseisei Village, which is located along the west side. On the east is the stunning Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple. As one of the largest Hindu temples in the entire Southern Hemisphere, it is worth a visit. The Koroyanitu National Park is a fantastic place to go hiking. You'll discover a number of small villages and enjoy great views of the surrounding areas. The Garden of the Sleeping Giant is also close by and is home to a fantastic orchid garden. Visitors also take advantage of the ferry service that bring them to the Mamanuca Group, which is a cluster of islands.

Fiji offers you amazing ways to enjoy its natural beauty. Nadi has a number of great golf courses for you to perfect that swing but those who want to enjoy a day at the beach will want to make their way to Denarau Island. Just a short drive from Nadi, you'll cross a bridge and come across the Fijian coast. The beach may not be as stunning as some of the other areas of Fiji but it continues to draw visitors wanting to stay close to the city.

Nadi won't be your typical Fiji experience but it is a great city to learn more about this country. Plus, the hotels here are quite nice and can be great for a holiday whether you're here for a stopover or staying for a few extra days.
