Although the city layout of San Jose is pretty spread out, you’ll be able to make your way around the more popular areas pretty easily by foot. And if you’re here during the right time, try to catch a performance, whether it’s the ballet, opera, or a theater performance. It really showcases the performing arts that thrive here.

Enjoy looking at gold? You’ll love the Gold Museum that displays rare gold pieces, some of which were used as religious symbols. There’s also a great Children’s Museum ideal for those youngin’s who love to learn about new and exciting things. Feeling lucky? The Casino del Ray is a great place to test out your gambling skills. It’s also home to the Blue Marlin Bar – a wonderful place to enjoy a drink and chat with a few friends. If you enjoy fine dining, you’ll want to head over to the Escazú neighborhood. It’s also ideal for nightclubs. Not so interested in spending your money on food? Plato de dia offers more affordable plates for your palate.

Make the short trip to the Lancaster Botanical Gardens where you’ll get a first hand look at some of the local beauty that flourishes here. The Parque La Sabana is also a nice place to relax and think about all the great sites you’ve seen while in San Jose.
