Not quite a palace but really quite nearly one - posted on 07/26/2005
It's supposed to be #1, but then this is Beijing where they're still playing catch up. Service & front desk are impeccable; rooms are fairly good, but dont believe the hype about views of the Forbidden City--its around the corner and a25 minute walk away. Bathrooms are excellent with flat screen tv's (if you're lucky)! Luxury brands in the arcade, 2 seasons late. Breakfast at Jing is good--not much for dinner.

We took our family on a dream vacation to Beijing and the Peninsula made it perfect! The breakfast buffet is wonderful, with island bars of diverse cuisine choices. The staff was professional and thoughful and the rooms were modern with flat screen tv's and lovely decorations. We highly recommend this incredible hotel.

My wife & I stayed 7 days at the Peninsula Plaza last October. The hotel is definitely a 6 Star Hotel. The food and service was second to none. I have made reservation for October of 2007 and have invited 15 of our close friends. I have stayed at other hotels in Beijing and none compares with the Peninsula Plaza. The rooms are very comfortable; the 48? LCD TV was great.
