Stay in Aruba - posted on 05/07/2007
The hotel was everything we expected. The guest services were outstanding and everyone was very helpful. The beach and pool options were the best we have ever had at a resort. The room was very nice and any issues were addressed the same day. The people at the hotel and on the island were very friendly and always helpful. I will make this a primary location for vacations in the future.
Very Noisy - posted on 04/30/2007
This hotel is not a 4-star. Although the rooms were very clean (I should know, I was moved to three different rooms in 6 nights! This is a very noisy hotel and the staff seem pretty clueless about most everything. I booked the trip two months in advance and when we arrived @ 5pm there was a 30 minute check-in fiasco because they didn't have a room ready. The private island is nice, but be aware that it is directly across from the air port and planes take off and land literally every 10 minutes so it is impossible to relax. Boat shuttle was downright scary at times. Will not visit again.

Stayed at the spacious suite & the layout was perfect for my kids. Multiple dining options made the vacation complete
Renaissance Island - posted on 04/19/2007
The Renaissance Island was perfect for our much awaited vacation. No timeshare hussling & the beach was almost for ourself as it is exclusive to the guests of the Reanaissance Hotel. If you are not staying at this Resort, to bad, you cannot get to the island
Awesome Adult Exclusive - posted on 04/19/2007
Stayed at the Marina Hotel, an awesome adult exclusive hotel. So much of fun with the blue bar, 24hr casino, night life...Already bkd for nex year. My wife had a blast.

This resort is a time-share resort but you could hardly tell that. The rooms are very nice.Small balconies on upper levels. Request main floor for the patio. Lots of shopping nearby. The best part is the beautiful private island with pink flamingos and ocean view. On the island is scuba diving and snorkeling. Restaurant and bar also on the island, making it perfect for an all day visit. My family will definetely return!
hotel or motel? - posted on 04/08/2007
We were very disappointed with the ocean suite rooms. Our rooms had mold, mildew and ants. And the staff could care less. The only thing we liked about the resort was the private island and lg smiths restaurant. I can't believe this resort was given 4 stars!
Best Place Ever - posted on 03/14/2007
This hotel was wonderful. my husband and I went to Aruba for our honeymoon. We had a great time at the renaissance resort and casino. The private island was nice and cozy and not crowded. If you would like to go on adventures they pick you up at your hotel it was wonderful. will def be going back again and again!
OK - posted on 02/19/2007
Be aware that this is not a beachfront hotel...it is in town and has cruise ships parked in front of it all of the time. It was ok but I beleive that most people would like to be on the beach and I was under the impression that we would be. The private island is nice but a little hectic to make the boat ride to. Watch your money in the Casino here because they are not recording the action and you have to make them pay you....I will visit Aruba again but will book at one of the beachfront resorts.

what is the hype? Not impressed - posted on 01/25/2007
Just came back and was not happy w/ this hotel. The private island was not nearly as nice as palm beach, and there was not enough shade or seating by the pools. Oh yeah, don't even bother going to the ocean suites side, they have no shade, uncomfortable chairs, the pool is lousy and they trucked in sand so you could pretend to be at the beach. Go to something on palm beach instead.
Best place on the Island - posted on 01/06/2007
This was our 4th (in a row) visit and we are making plans for next December. The suites are more family oriented, but if you are just a couple you can stay at the suites and take a complimentary ggolf cart over to the hotel and use all of their facilities. The private island is wonderful, with a bar and retaurant on site. Waiters on the beach will bring you drinks and food. There are TONS of restaurants within walking distance and two casinos.

We just spent 8 days at the marina hotel and actually thought for our money that we preferred it to the ocean suites. Food, service and everything else was incredible. They treat you well and are extremely friendly, then aruba doese the rest. Stay at this hotel!
Best Hotel on Island - posted on 10/16/2006
The Renaissance Ocean hotel is the best on the island. The bed is the best, great room with wet bar and storage with a private bedroom for parents. We had an excellent time

How can you perfect perfection? You can't not here. This was the best place i have ever spent anywhere. My husband and I enjoyed the island , the food, the water, but most of all our new friends.

Our honeymoon from Aug 11 to Aug 16, 2006 was awesome! I love the private island. it was not crowded. The snorkelling at Palm Island and driving jetski at palm beach was wonderful experiences. Staff was very nice and hospitable. The weather was very comfortable, not hot not cold, just right. the only thing I don't like was the food was very expensive! I definately come back there.
My Trip to Aruba - posted on 08/24/2006
My husband and I just came back from our trip to Aruba. We stayed at the Rennissance Resort and Casino. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was a nice size and was decorated in cool beautiful colors. The food at the resturants was the best of all the Islands we're visited. We loved the surprises that we were given to us upon our arrival.
Marina Hotel - South Beach style! - posted on 08/11/2006
My husband and I just returned from our second trip to the Renaissance Resort - we always stay in the Marina Hotel because we love the location, the infinity pool looking out over the marina, the martini bar and all of the restaurants that are around the resort.
Aruba Renaissance Resort and Casino - posted on 07/30/2006
We stayed at the Marina. THe other Renaissance hotel was geared towards families. Here are some things to consider: the rooms are small but nice, the bathroom is REALLY small, the shower in our room was in need of updating. There is a really weird smell (like fish) when you enter the lobby area. I have bad allergies and it bothered me every time I was in the lobby. Seems like they try to hide the smell by spraying toxic cleaning chemicals. Private island is amazing but on first day we got bitten by bugs really badly- BRING BUG SPRAY just in case.
AWESOME - posted on 07/29/2006
My wife traveled with another couple and stayed at the Marina towers. Both couples are in our late 20's and we had a blast. The boat picks you up in the lobby and takes you to the private island. Not crowded at all and very relaxing. Water is calm almost like a lagoon. Everything is walking distance, shopping, restaurants, bars. The Marina Casino is 24 hours and table games are 24 hours.Pool at Marina is awesome with hardly no kids. THe ocean suites pool is larger with a swim up bar but more kids.
AWESOME!!! - posted on 07/25/2006
Everything about the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino is amazing...Renaissance Island is a paradise, the Blue Pool Bar is spectacular with GREAT happy hours...The Marina rooms were very comfortable and the casino's provided lots of exciting entertainment with free drinks...A great location with lots of shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Loud! - posted on 06/15/2006
We were supposed to stay @ the Marina hotel. Dissapointed when we saw room. Too loud, small w/ buisiest street right outside. Very close to airport. Rooms need ALOT of updating. Mildew! We switched to Ocean suites. {for extra $} It's quieter. Pool nice w/ swimup bar & beach. Don't get the sexy & sultry package. Casino cards didn't work & only for certain machines. Coctail credit only good @ Blue Bar. Everything is walkable from this hotel. But if you want an awsome pool and beautiful place, go to Hyatt or Radison! We felt very safe. They love Americans!

beautiful overall - posted on 06/02/2006
the hotel was beautiful and location was ideal for shopping and our favorite restaurants - iguana joe's and rumba. practically everything else was reachable by the nearby bus stop for $2 roundtrip per person. the ocean suites was more romantic looking but still very close; i think if i did it all again, i'd choose ocean suites. the only gripe we had at marina hotel was the MIA breakfast we ordered through room service, which turned into a goose hunt with the front desk and room service. when we finally got breakfast about an hour after our stated time frame, it wasn't our order.

What a cool hotel - posted on 05/31/2006
My fiance and I stayed at the Marina Towers. We are in our mid 30's and had a great time. The hotel pool and bar were great. We were right downtown and close to everything. The private island was heavenly, not at all crowded. We went to the highrise section of Palm beach and it is so crowded. There wer about 3 kids at the Towers which was nice. The Ocean suites is more suited for families. 2 for 1 happy hour from 5-7. I will definitely return to the renaissance marina towers. Make sure you go on the Kukukanuku party bus-ask for Mama and her gang!
dirty grounds, smelly rooms - posted on 04/24/2006
pool/beach area not cleaned daily, dishes left from days before. Room smelled of heavy duty cleaning spray (to the point of making me feel sick). Musty smell in Ocean Suites. Suite size small. Not one utensil in place or can opener. No clean towels in room at 6pm on Sat. eve after day at beach/pool. One person at desk at check in. Need more help there!
Great Vacation - posted on 04/19/2006
Nice hotel. The private island is incredibly beautiful. It was perfect for families, as the water is very calm but can be loud. The hotel is near many great restaurants and shops and Aruba has no tax. Our room was looking over a back street and could be loud. You don?t want the rooms that open up into the lobby, and none of the rooms had great rooms. Great hotel, enjoy the private island, and have fun!
Great 25th Anniversary Trip - posted on 04/09/2006
This was our first time to Aruba. We stayed at the Ocean Suites and the service was wonderful and the rooms were very nice. The private island was enjoyable and relaxing. The most relaxing time for us was at the pool and swim up bar. The location was wonderful being so close to all the shops, restaurants and nightly entertainment. We will definitely go back and stay at the Ocean Suites. The people of Aruba were wonderful and we felt very welcome.

My husband and I visited with our grown children and loved the city location. Walked to most everything. Private island beach was super. Stayed in Marina Tower building; room okay (somewhat small) but bathrooms were very small. The pool was awesome (overlooked the city) and Blu Bar was great, especially happy hour every day. The concierge was very helpful with dining and other requests. Took a helicopter ride around the island. Great way to see everything. Would definitely go back to the Renaissance Marina Towers and to Aruba.
Wonderful island - posted on 04/03/2006
I was very impressed with the hotel. Would stay here again because of the private island. Next time will get an inside room due to the outside noise. Also, the spa was not very impressive. Other than that, everything was exceptional. We loved it.

Perfect Location! - posted on 03/24/2006
The Renaissance in Aruba was the perfect resort for a romantic vacation. The resort is located in town so all of the island's best restaurants, shops and nightclubs are a short walk away. We stayed at the Marina Hotel which looks like a South Beach Hotel with a martini bar and infinity pool but there is another building with suites that is good for families. And their private island, that you reach by boat, featured an adult only side and a family side so everyone was happy. I can easily recommend this resort for couples and families.

Ok, I GUESS, for the price - posted on 03/08/2006
The Beach Tower Suite rooms need upgrading, and the island is not SPECTACULAR. It is basically an island with man made lagoons, so the water is kind of like that of a pool, not so good. The pool area in the Beach Tower was always crowded. We like the pool at the marina tower better, although it was about a 7 minute walk. A shame that the gym is also at the marina, and the ENTERTAINMENT shows at the MARINA casino are RIDICULOUS!

Romantic Honeymoon - posted on 01/20/2006
We spent our honeymoon in one of the suites. It was a great room for the price and we were surprised how private everything seemed. We were always able to find a nice spot away from anyone else. The swim up bar is fun and the barefoot dinner on the beach is a must. If you are a couple, do yourself a favor and rent the private cove for a sunset massage. Very romantic. Basically, we spent a week feeling like royalty for a pretty low price. We will definately go back.
Great place - posted on 01/14/2006
Stayed in the Ocean Suites hotel and highly recommend it (and Aruba as a whole). Very nice rooms and facility. Friendly and competent staff. Location is convenient to downtown (shops, restaurants). Private island is nice, but we liked the hotel beach and pools better. We liked our ?island view? room which faced the cruise ships and gave a great view of the sunset. Having seen the location of other Aruba hotels and resorts, we?d go back to the Renaissance again. Tip: Take a cab back to the airport. Transfer bus schedule may make you leave the hotel too early.

We were there for 1 week at the resort in a corner room and had a lovely time. My 2 1/2 year old son had a blast looking out the balcony at the boats coming and going to the island, the iguanuas, and the criuse ships. It was a great vacation for the three of us. It was undemading, restful and relaxing. It is closely located to dining, shopping and attractions, you really don't need a car. The island was the best part and we went everyday. It was truly a lovely holiday. If we ever went back to Aruba, it would be at this hotel

We spent our 30th wedding anniversary at the Rennaissance and would return in a heart beat. The staff was wonderful, the bartenders at blue, were wonderful, we just loved everything about Aruba. We will definately stay at this hotel on our return trip to this beautiful island.

Planning our return trip - posted on 07/31/2005
We stayed in the Marina tower. The location was ideal. It is within walking distance to everything, shopping malls, casinos, theaters, restaurants, clubs, waterfront, etc. The boat shuttles you from inside the hotel lobby to the private island which is 10 minutes away. The island is not crowded, the service is great , the food and drink are wonderful. I felt like I was in a commercial. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and glad you are there. We are returning as soon as possible and definitely staying at the Renaissance again.
Careful if you have allergies - posted on 07/28/2005
At check in they had no room reservation for us. After finding us a room it was the one located across from the housekeeping station which meant NOISE. The room was very MOIST nothing would dry in it and lastly there was MOLD in the bathroom on the walls. Certainly not a great place to be if you have allergies. I wonder how much more mold is behind those walls and this is a REMODEL? Outside of the room things were fine. The kids had a good time. Iquana Joes which is a short walk from the hotel has excellent food.

My wife and I have gone to Aruba for the last 3 Decembers and will be going this December also. We always stay at the Reaissance. The private Island is beautiful with REAL flamingos wandering around the beachs. Downtown has a kind of small town European feel to it. The food is very continental and affordable. the German place is one of our fave eateries.

We had the best time! This hotel was fantastic! The location was awesome. So much to do! So safe, so fun! Very comfortable. The island is great, the area lots to do within walking distance, the pool was great. We bought the unlimited drink plan! So worth it!
A great place - posted on 06/15/2005
We bought a time share here (beach front), pre-construction, and have never regretted it (except during the remodel 2 years ago. Shopping & dining just a short walk away, friendly staff. Just super. Life is faster & cheaper downtown compared to the high rise places.
